Cripps won't be stolen if delisted and redrafted as a rookie.
I didn't think he would. I doubt anyone would do that with Yeo either any longer (before he sat our 2025 it would have been a risk, but now, I doubt it). But to move someone back to the rookie list you have to take that non-zero risk.

Cripps, Barnett and Johnston to the rookie list would seem a no-brainer if you're wanting to protect space for a potential F/S or NGA bid.

The extra picks would also suggest that Coen Livingston should be safe for 2026.

Neither do I, only concern is how high melb could finish next year. Will be fun death riding a side again
Well Petracca leaving won't likely improve their position in the short term. Deathriding the Dees would be one I'd like the look of (though Essendon and Carlton also look very cooked, and there's still us, Tiggers and North looking pretty lowly).

There is a bit of an opportunity here though with the Petracca looming exit, Melbourne will want a high pick - and we hold (or are about to hold) a couple that are no doubt of interest.

Pick 2 for Petracca and McVee I think Melb would bite our hand off. Obviously Petracca is going elsewhere - so the question is what is his value (with McVee as the steak knives).

If he wants Adelaide, then it is Curtin. I don’t think they would do it, but we can ask.

GC obviously Walter, albeit he is less of a need (and has less runs on the board).

Both are unlikely, but you never know.
Serious question. Has 1 draft pick ever been used for 2 players in a package deal?

Big guys take time, we have kept a lot of players much worse than Barnett which had a very low ceiling.

How long has it taken Harry Edwards to finally play some good footy?

Experience plus confidence can make a player turn the corner quickly.
Harry Edwards showed a LOT more promise early on, stagnated but still showed more early

Port traded Polec and Pittard to North for essentially pick 11, although there was some later picks changing hands.

Going back a long way, we traded Scott Watters and Tony Begovich to Sydney for pick 1 (Banfield). I don’t think we’d get away with that again.

Going back not quite as far, we traded pick 21 for Michael Collica and Richard Taylor.

We’ll have picks/points coming in for Chesser & Ryan - so a little extra to get #7 won’t be hard.

Bombers - if they hold 6/7/8 they also have 25/26 (or wherever they end up after compo).

5 inside 25, not sure they will be super keen to split to get a 6th pick. Absolutely they may look at futures, but clearly our F1 should be off limits as it is certain top 3 in a less compromised draft

We can get pick 7 done comfortably as i said but splitting pick 2 might not be so easy.

Let's say hypothetically we offer Hawks first, AFL compo and Chesser pick for pick 7

We cough up our second round pick for Starcevich and Dev.

That leaves us the Hawks 3rd to match Banfield or an academy player (whoever comes first)

Now all we have left is what we get for Ryan. Let's say for arguments sake it's the Saints future 2nd round pick.

If you were the Bombers would you trade 5 & 6 for 2 and a future second?

Probably not.
