On the Archer Reid bit, is this just your personal view or does the club share?
Nothing they've done indicates Reid will play back, despite our obvious lack of a quality tall back.
Isnt wce_phil the one who said Owies was going to save the trade period? The crown jewel... From what we've all seen, owies is the spud that Carlton openly advertised.

Mark Duffield has said it’s time Erasmus starts assessing his options because it’s clear he’s a fair way back in the pecking order at Fremantle

Like you I don’t really know why that is but from what I could gather from Duffield’s comments his defensive running is an issue. I also believe his disposal is a bit iffy

So another player with below average disposal who is poor defensively is probably not what we need.

That assessment might be off for all I know and he can at least find the footy at WAFL level so I hope we at least consider him
Is one of the better Peel players. 7th in the Sandover as well.
I think he is a good player and we can get 100 games out of him even if its a stop gap situation.

I think he is exactly that if we are after a cheap option who can provide depth in the midfield and very good WAFL player.
He would be ahead of several players on our list for quality.
Do we let Petch go as an UFA and bring in Erasmus, probably a good deal and younger with potential upside.
I feel he is a bit like Chesser, albeit playing more inside mid than outside and would be a serviceable replacement.

We’re in a rebuild. No one over the age of 25 should be considered un tradeable for the right price, with the exception of Waterman.

Let’s say we were to trade Liam Ryan to GCS and we were able to get Powell out of it, do we do that deal?

Absolutely we do.
HBFer with mid potential…..stacks up!

If any other club went near Petch they need their head read.

This bloke has no AFL currency.

He can't even perform at WAFL level.

Ryan is potentially one we can potentially afford to lose. It would have to be for a very good pick even if it was the hawks pick + Ryan to get into the top 8 of the draft. Club likely needs to keep it's second rounders for Walley and Evans imo.

We have some real top tier looking small forward NGA's over the next 3 years.

Club also needs to potentially look at trialling Brockman off of HB at WAFL level. See if the ball coming at him works better as he has the skills but can't seem to generate enough of the ball to be effective at HF.

Rawlinson is a straight delist.

We can 100% afford to lose Ryan.

He simply cannot play a full season.

I believe its primarily due to the compromised standards he is allowed to set for his fitness.

Another who has a higher reputation because of what he did on 29th September 2018....

Ryan has been a fantastic player for us, but if GCS in WCE_phil ’s example are keen to take him and Hawks R1 to turn a late 1R into a Grlj, Curtin or Lindsay then we should bite their hand off. We are in part in this postion by holding onto players with value without realising where we are at.

Phil why not go into a modest 2R/3R deficit for next year and extract maximum points value from our 2R/3R next year given the points deficit will be applied before bids are made? We can then do the same thing next year into the 2027 draft? Both 2026 and 2027 are already looking hugely compromised.

Just watched a bit of that Wes Walley game v Coburg

Brockman vibes

meh
No idea but at first glance...

Brockman, low possessions in his top age year (13.9), 1 goal a game. Finding the ball has always been his problem at every level

Walley has stepped it up in his top age year, at 20+ touches a game, and a goal a game. He seems to be able to find the ball at a way better rate. Lets see if can maintain through the year.

Kobe Ryan is still only 21 and is playing in a horrendously shit SANFL side and putting up good numbers. People question his disposal but disposal wasn't an issue as a junior. Playing for West Adelaide in the midfield and trying to show good skills is like playing for WCE midfield atm and trying to show good skills. Getting a lot of clearances and running both ways. I've kept a close eye on him as he was one of my favourites in his draft year. Was immature and a bit quirky. I think he's worth at least an interview to see if he's matured.

Agree with at the very least interviewing him, a good chance he has matured.
He has the skill set to become a decent B grader.

He has consistently been performing at West Adelaide for a couple of years now, rarely has an off day.

To further support this, I watched a lot of that draft year with Brockman and more of the WA and SA guys in particular due to COVID and Dan Andrews locking down my state (absolute Kent of a human).

Brockman was always on the cusp of being drafted, never looked a complete talent but rather had a few nice attributes. To be honest he's done better in the AFL system than I expected.

Walley is completely different, much more rounded game and far more dominant in both his u17 and u18 year. He's a top 25 talent. I can a slight similarity in playing style, but Walley has far more impact on games as he's present in games more.

Jay Hill one to watch in the WA under 18’s, played footy up here in Broome in the seniors from 15 years old, only moved to Perth to give it a crack at the end of last year, already been made VC of Claremont colts. He’s a real smooth mover can play midfield, HFF. He’s has beautiful smooth kicking action and a big leap, reads the play well, as a player comparison similar to Jack Gunston is that smooth straight kicking action and taking lead up marks at the highest point.
Great kid, great parents, I hope he goes well.

yeah I'm not saying no but just thought he even looked like Brockman body shape and style

Different athletic profile. Walley's vertical leap and agility is much better.

AFL Academy games are a lot like WAFL futures, they're highly compromised for the majority of players.
