Personally would love to see Livingston given a game or 2 before being delisted.

Reckon he would at a very minimum contest and break even and can go fwd.
Yeah being Cat B and a chance more Cat B spots are created this year, its unlikely to open a spot anyway.

30 next year. Out of contract free agent. Or are we wedded to Cameron.

1) He’s not worth the contract value reportedly being offered by St Kilda
2) He costs us the Oscar Allen FA compo which we’d lose by bringing DeKoning in - so no pick 2

Rather we use the draft pick and spend the cap space elsewhere

Not disagreeing with your point 1 but reckon they could navigate around point 2.
1) split pick 2 for say picks 5 & 11. Send #5 to Carlton which is better than what they'd currently receive which is #8. Effectively getting TDK and #11 for #2.
2) question - if WC are given #2 - are they allowed to forward that to Carlton for TDK & another pick that Carlton engineers?

Yes this.

3 early picks and NGA/FS.

Use any other available draft capital to trade in mature bodies. Cameron mcvee Phillips.
Cameron gives our mids more opportunity.
Mcvee slots into Duggan's/Coles role, or even allow Ruben some midfield time (no melts)
Phillips to make the mids compete for spots.
Rookie dev for shits and giggles.😅

3 mids plus Curtin?

Pick 19 slides to mid 2nd round.

Yep, I think we go all 4 NGAs and FS. 3 picks in the open draft (why I don’t understand the pick split), 3 trade ins, mature players, Ruck, KPD and mid. Plus the 2 MSD picks retain there spots.

That’s 12 list spots on the main list that need to be opened up if we do want all our NGAs/FS.

GONE (7 main list spots)
Gov
Sheed
Petch
Jamieson
Hunt
Allen
Rawlinson* (create a rookie spot for Cripps*)
Barnett

LIKELY (8)
Chesser

MAYBE (4?)
Ryan? (If he wants out)
Cole (doubt it)
Bazzo (I doubt it and shouldn’t be imo)
Bailey Williams (trade*)
Cripps (re rookie? Gunstan style)
Livingstone (doesn’t really create a spot)
agree with this.
I think this is the scenario if WC know they have been given 2-3 extra rookie spots.
Creates the 4th NGA spot.
Chesser is gone(8)
BW trade if Cameron comes, probably in same trade(9)
I don't suspect Cripps gets a rookie spot, I think he will get a 1 year extension on average chips, but can see this scenario.
Ryan stays
Cole stays
Bazzo stays
Livingstone stays
Is the 3 rookie spots make 12?
Cameron, Buss, McVee are the 3 in order of need.
Erasmus, Dev, Phillips in order of need for others.
I suspect if WC want anything else they may choose Dev on as a rookie or go left field as can't see Dev not having other interest.
WC might just have a look at K Bevan from WP as a rookie instead of Dev.

We can’t recruit any FA this year. It’ll dilute the pick 2 compo.
Whats ROB with in FA compensation? If it’s Band 3, we could trade for him. Hawks F2? And it allows the Crows to the still sign FAs and not lose that 2nd rounder.

Also doubt ROB goes west when we will have contenders chasing him.

I know this is non WCE related and probably controversial but I actually don't mind Norfs trade last year. I think they got the better Whitlock at the time and I rate him at least as high or higher than any of the talls in this draft. Also in an area of need.
If I'm a North fan watching Jobe run around for us at the moment I'd probably be a bit flat...

Far too early to tell with those sort of trades however, especially the talls.

Bizarre article by Paul Haselby in the weekend paper.
Said we should delist all the out of contract players bar Cripps.
Also said we should move on Barnett, Johnston and Bwilliams as we have salary cap space.
With the draft not being as strong this year i doubt we cut that deep.
The other problem is we would have very few players left to delist in 2026.
It would be good if he did his research

I wonder who wrote it for him, perhaps his maths isn't that strong either.

Biggest issue was giving up a pick earlier than that for Caleb Daniel. Let that go and they still get Whitlock and a top 4 pick this year.

The only thing Paul Haselby knows is how to optimally load your plate at the buffet.

I heard Haselby saying a week or so ago that we should throw the kitchen sink at getting Patty Cripps.

31 years old at the start of next year, plays a position where players take a lot of physical knocks and rarely play past the age he is already at, his form is already visibly declining already, he is under contract and the Captain of his club so Carlton would want something substantial back etc. And we are a wooden spoon club looking to build a list to make the 8 in 3 - 5 years time, not that worried about temporary two year sugar hit from bring in 31 year old's

So he has a history of suggesting stupid things.

Why the **** would ROB want to come to us for is the biggest problem here

Cameron would come to us to come home for example and take more money with us willing to do a trade. As a free agent ROB will have many options better then us like Carlton/Collingwood/Geelong...

Lets just get Cameron ie. a player we can get. If you are upset about giving up pick 19 and 31 just take it as us giving up one senior body (Allen) for another (Cameron) and getting extra draft compensation at the end of it too

This is not specifically directed at you Obeanie1 as many get it wrong but it is Sam Cumming, not Cummings. There is no s on the end. Like Isaac Cumming.

Currently, yes I would trade 7 and 14 (before bids) to get any of Sharp, Cumming or Lindsay.

I think a lot of clubs would do the same to get Duursma, CDT or Greeves as well.
Is he related to Scott Cumming?:)
