As it stands I’d be looking at:

SSP Dom Brew for Sheed
MSD Clancy Dennis
Draft Cody Curtin
Trade for Zach Reid (Hawks R3)

We may also soon have a 3rd list spot available
Do you know something or just the usual injury prone Eagles stuff?

Surely we commit Barnett to KPD life as of this year.
Then when Jamo is back fit make him be a ruck/KPD, mostly ruck just as backup ready to delist at the end of the year.
It'd be a shame if Van Es or Brock don't show enough but I really think we need to find a KPD with a SSP selection rather than waiting for the MSD

Do you think Artemis would be worth a look for SSP or would he be more MSD and watch his form in WAFL?

The former. We’ll know more soon.

I don’t think so at this stage. He was available in the rookie draft or to view as an SSP pick up and we didn’t go down that path. He’s got 3 months to show clubs he’s worth a shot in the MSD otherwise his chances of taking his career further are pretty slim. Not much has really changed for him since the draft so I don’t see why any clubs would have had a light bulb moment to pick him up in the SSP.

With the depth of lasts years draft, there’s bound to be some good young guys killing it in state leagues in the first half of the year. If Brock or van es aren’t cutting it, then it might be not such a bad strategy to wait w [emoji638] spots for the msd, and see what kids emerge from a key back and outside mid perspective. I wouldnt mind that, especially compared with bringing in more [emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]+ options at this stage.

The only issue with the MSD is that you potentially lose your target to another team. The second pick will basically be useless as there isn't going to be enough talent to last until then.

So here I am sitting the physio waiting room and on the Today show they just ran a short interview with Oscar Allen around him potentially being on the trade block last year. His summary was there is always uncertainty and that’s why we have managers for. Also added the usual love the club and love da boys.

I hope we don’t lose him. Really like the lad.

I'm not suggesting Tomlinson is next up. I'm suggesting he's last resort, as in no Gov or Edwards and 1 of Barnett or Bazzo out too.
Basically playing so Shanahan doesn't have to play KPD in his 1st season.
I would love to see Shanahan be given a go as KPD this year if injuries/availability open up the spot for a few games.
He is an aerial contested beast who has played against and arguably dominated against men last year in his 3 VFL games (11 goals). Another year older and an AFL pre-season under the belt, I think it would be great for his development to experience the big step up. More than likely he gets taught some lessons but I think that could be the making of him and lets him understand what he needs to do to get to the level. I'm not concerned about a drop in confidence - he will be a gun and will thrive with the extra responsibility.
I'm against Tomlinson more for the fact that I think he would probably demand 3 years or at the very least 2 years to make a move west worthwhile. For a break in case of emergency player, I think a 1 year contract should be all we consider.

Agree Brew looks a decent player, 27 tough and hard working, how is his injury and is he likely to get on WB list?
MSD Clancy Dennis I really like, thought he was unlucky not to be drafted, fitting the KDEF list also would be Tom Bell, Adrian Cole?
Players who might fit the Sheed replacement would be Archer Gardiner/wing/19, George Grey/HB/mid/24? Doo you have any insight into any of them?
Curtin is a vey good talent and a definite list need, he is a priority along with the best mid we can get imo.
Zach Reid after 4 years in the system has immense talent but cant get his body injury free, I wouldn't use a R3 pick on him, if he is delisted I would give him a rookie contract, I hope his brother hasn't inherited his injury genes?

Barnett looks to be taking his new position with both hands, I agree if he can command the KDEF position this year it will be his.
Jamo will be the first player delisted this year, 5 years on the list and hasn't commanded a spot and is injury prone.
If Brock and Van Es haven't shown enough for a list spot then MSD is probably the next place a KDEF player emerges unfortunately.
C Dennis, T Bell, A Cole all went undrafted last year and are KDEF height, I think 1 of those will develop enough to have a shot at.

Tomlinson I agree would be a break glass player and 2 years would be a commitment to get him here from all reports, if that's the case then it probably becomes an unviable option, now way 3 years would be on the table imo.
Shanahan looks a ripper but I would only be using him if he warrants selection, if injuries and availability open up a spot for a few games I would be using him against lesser teams for a few games to get a gauge of his ability only. I would be using Barnett before Shanahan as he is more physically developed, if we are down to bare bones Hough/Ginbey will need to take a taller role to fill a spot for a few games.

Bolded goes without saying.
I guess my point in response to Stallon was that getting Tomlinson to prevent Jobe playing as a KPB is not a valid reason to get him IMO. I would have no hesitation playing Shanahan there if injuries open up the spot and his WAFL form validates selection.

I would def be saving one of the picks for MSD as we have had a good track record lately with Culley being a bit unlucky but looking good with Maric and Hutchy.

I liked Culley as much as the next bloke, but I don't agree that he was unlucky. The ACL was obviously disruptive but I feel like he showed his ceiling last year and we did the right thing moving him on.

If he didnt do his ACL i think he would have continued his good form.

What happened with Ethan Phillips. Could he be better than Tomlinson
delisted by Hawks after 1 game and they signed Battle & Barrass.
Signed with Carlton VFL side.
Thought of all he players that might get an SSP spot it would be Phillips.
Appears WC don't rate him highly enough?
At 25 and 197 and being a dominant FB for several years in VFL I would have thought he would be high on the list of prospects for a 2 year rookie spot?
Certainly would suit our age profile and be very good cover for worst case injuries.

Article stats that Culley training the house down but Dees also don’t have a list spot for him atm. Would need a design long injury. ‘He’s been seriously impressive’….

He's always been a pretty good trainer
