Toby Whan Freo NGA prospect this kid I think will be the surprise packet from WA this year
I think he could end up a top ten pick.

I would love us to bid on him and if Freo dont pony up we get him
Has amazing left foot and is a endurance beast

Speaking to Matt Rodgers with Toby and Fred Souths have the best two mid's in colts
Really excited to watch colts this year both clubs nga boys, and just the amount of good WA talent
that is second to third round draft talent this year makes it exciting WA should win the championship
if coached right
Allies have a ridiculous team this season with all the top 40 Academy players available .

They will take some beating .

Following on from your analysis of leaving a list spot open unless somebody makes it hard for WC not to take them in MSD.
I believe WC list management are in this space as well.
Looking at 2026 draftees that are elite mids, there looks to be a few FS/NGA/Academy prospects at this early stage and not a draft blessed with mids, long way to go to 2026 but having a much wider look with WC NGA's of maybe 2-3 draftable that year?
I would be inclined to pony up and spend our resources and draft capital on Warner's x 2, best mid, best KDEF and 2 NGA/FS prospects. If that means we need to use early 2026 draft capital and a chunk of it to put the best asset midfielder from the draft we can afford I would be ok with that.
C Warner will add significantly to our midfield and his brother is at worst a depth player and better than Chesser imo.
I still feel we are 2 high quality mids away from elite in that area, Chad being 1 and a draftee being another!
Better on the list competing for spots than not before 2027 Tassie draft!!
KDEF and Rucks are our biggest weakness outside of this and can be solved by trade and draft, draft Curtin as an example and trade for KDEF if club feels we are short in this area but it seems 2025 will determine a lot.
H Edwards, Brock, Barnett, Shanahan, seem to be the options for key defensive roles and Maric as a 3rd tall, hopefully a couple take the role as their own and make the next Gov/Barrass combo!
If none of the above take steps in the right direction J Blight(Rich), Busslinger(WB) would be high on the target list to sure up our KDEF long term.
The bl..dy rucks are a big problem, I think WC have the backup ruck/fwd roles and players waiting in the wings to develop and be long term solutions for 2nd ruck roles in JW and Archer, Barnett might make a KDEF/Ruck option if we are in need.
Flynn and BW are not the answer long term and if WC are serious about finals in around 2028 we need a ready made ruck who is big enough to tap and compete very soon for the next 5+ years minimum(24-25yo & 204cm+) this coming trade period or next imo.
I feel sorry for BW as he has fought his heart out for the club during tough times and done a great job, but he just isn't a number 1 ruck. I would be happy to keep him on the list as a 2nd ruck option as he rarely gets injured and tries his heart out but I would be more than happy for him to explore his options if another club wanted him and got a decent deal and helped WC get some decent draft capital.
Flynn on the other hand is made of paper I feel and unless his season is something outstanding he looks like he will need to make way for the next number 1 ruck, if BW stays Flynn gets shifted sideways as AFLW ruck coach and if BW goes Flynn can still be AFLW ruck coach and be 2nd ruck when needed.
Now for the search L Reidy(Fre), L McAndrew(Ade)?
Sorry for the long post, list management out!
Interesting read. Sorry to be critical but a few breaks between paragraph would help readability. Again, sorry.

List management after todays match sim? 24 and under team.

Draft/Trade KDEF
How many KDEF players do we need to sure up our defence?(2)
Seems we have H Edwards, Brock as backup(maybe more if he keeps playing like this), maybe Shanahan, maybe Barnett(haven't seen him yet after impressing in pre-season)? Maric 3rd tall?

Draft/Trade midfield.
How many midfielders to sure up our stocks?(2)
Inside - H Reid, Hewett, Hall, B Allan(eventually), probably ample big bodied mids
Outside - Hutch, Gross, Johnston?(wing), lack classy ball users/C Warner(perfect), 2025 & 2026 draft?
Wings/outside - Hutch, Johnston, Dewar, Davis, Cory Warner, draft FS/B Banfield/ample stocks?
If we trade in Warner x 2 we will be significantly better in midfield outside stocks, even though Chad is inside also but I feel we are 2 classy ball users short inside and out for our next premiership team.

Also expect only 1 of Barnett and Shanahan to be quality KDEF, H Edwards to be decent and Brock to be cover, so definitely need 2 KDEF options 195cm+ in our next line of KDEF after them?

Urgeee to get angry rising..... And people question why im angry. I'm going to leave my recent thoughts of Bo Allan unsaid. He's going as I predicted. He hasnt annoyed me or impressed me

You know what would be good if we picked up Sid Draper.

Because then we could play Fred Rod off half back flanker if he doesn't prove to make it as a mid. He has Elite kick

We are playing 2d chess when we could be playing 3d chess.

Any recruiters worth salt would have known Murphy Reid talent. Except us of course.

It's going to be clockwork seeing all these stars in the elite midfield draft rip it up. From Sid Draper to Murphy Reid to FOS to Lalor to Smillie

Be upset about Draper sure. I wanted him.

Murphy Reid is the biggest flight risk since JHF. Playing with fire if took him

Fremantle took him. Why are fremantle the same state team less risk adverse then us? And they seem to be roaring in the last 4 years.

What happened to winner mentality.

You mean like when we drafted Harley Reid despite all the crap spewing over from the east?

Remind me what Cockburn have won?
Also how many players have they lost back east over the last few years?

Was keen on Draper.

Having watched both Adelaide and West Coast pre-season games i think Draper looks more developed and ready to go than Allan (especially as a mid), but Allan has a higher ceiling/potential tbh.

Bo looked fast, clean, and powerful in the highlights package from the intraclub. Also seems to be firming for round 1, and is a local product to boot. Hard to be upset with the choice.
Reminds me of a young Yeo...He's going to be a ripper.

Was very keen on Murphy Reid, but let's not make any grand statements based on a couple of intraclub games.

I like our better balanced WA/interstate picks over last few years, always got to take things like that into consideration.
Just look at the trade period this year with a lot of 'go home' factor playing into many trades.
Freo even lose players to interstate clubs with no connection, so I wouldn't be basing too much on their retention history.

Good luck to Murphy Reid and Freo, I'll always support a WA side over a Vic side and hope they do well, but Bo Allen looks more than capable based on the limited viewing I've seen.
