You want to add 4 A-grade mids, to Hewett/Reid/Hall/Gross who all look like competent onballers?
By mids do you mean onballers? Most clubs generally run 4-5 onballers in a game plus 1-2 forwards or something who can run through the middle.
If we have Reid, Hewett and one of Hall/Gross thats 3, 1-2 more is about right. We need depth after that for sure but I dont see why we need 4 A-graders.
4 mids yes, 4 A-graders would be nice but not necessary, most clubs barely even have 2-3 A-grade mids total.

2 A-graders and a few later picks sounds more reasonable to fill out the depth sounds more reasonable tbh.

We probably have the wings covered more or less, with Dewar and between Davis/Johnston/Hutch/Banfield/any more NGAs or late picks.

Sheldrick to help win the ball. Outside players come from the kids.
Sorry what??
I'm a fan of Hall and think he will demand a spot, but he might only be around Mark Hutchings level at AFL.
I also think that Harley Reid is best used as a forward 50% of the time.
Hewett is probably best off a forward flank and the same with Ginbey.

We have some really good burst style players but not the meat and potato types which is exactly why we went after Graham.

Sheldrick is pretty much a bust & is the Sydney equivalent of Deven.
Hutchinson has played like 1 game and got towelled up.
Gross hasn't even played a WAFL game😂

maybe, I think hes likely a bit better at winning the ball than Hutchings

I disagree with all of this, at least for 3-4 years in the future which is when we should be planning for.

Disagree, hes shown he can rack it up in the middle. The swans have a pretty strong midfield that they like to play a certain way, Sheldrick just doesnt suit.

I can only speculate on these guys. I am very bullish on Hutch though.

Thinking we need 4 a-grade mids on top of what we have already got is a bit over the top

Well Allen going would be a win I guess? I think hes just out of form and distracted, missing Darling/Watermans space creation perhaps?

Still, a top 4 pick for Allen would be a net win so good luck to the Hawks.
Sucks that its them, but dont really care what theyre doing tbh, they could win the next 4 premierships and it wouldnt affect us at all.

Reids name seems to just have been thrown up randomly, just to make a headline. They cant afford him anyway

I doubt Hawks are planning anything for Harley this year while in contract.

What's more interesting is why is Harley's manager in Perth? What is he doing there? Who else from Freo/WC does he manage?

Should we be having a look at TDK and his brother SDK. Would fix our ruck problems and provide a genuine KPD. Depends where SDK sees himself of course.

Alternatively what about Zach Reid, Archer Reid's brother. Might come pretty cheap and likely an upgrade on everyone bar McGovern.

That was my first thought, I double checked Allens management first but I idk if or how to check who Gieschen manages. Not going through each player individually either lol

SDK just signed on at the Cats

Tried finding some info online. Couldn't find any West Coast or Freo players he represents.

Interesting development.

Gieschen only manages Reid currently at West Coast but he was actually Shuey's player manager also.

Who knows, could be there regarding an extension for Reid, or just checking up on him.

I imagine he does regular visits.

Probably seeing if they’ll let Shuey have a year of Yeo’s 3 year deal, considering they are shelling out again for blokes that never play.

Will say it would be pretty poor timing from Allen if he did meet with Mitchell after dishing up that effort yesterday. Maybe the club should put him out for the media this week - the rest of the leadership group has all been sent out to cop it already and they've at least shown something in games from time to time.

Worry about midfield first.

Some blokes might aren’t good at playing through this stuff.

Just get an understanding of what he wants to do. And wrap him up in cotton wool for the hawks. Play Jobe and archer and let’s just move on.

If true that would be final straw territory for mine. If he hasn't signed on in the next few weeks I reckon it's a foregone conclusion he'll be elsewhere next year. Give him the Jeremy Sharpe treatment if so, we gain nothing from a single game put into him over Reid or Williams at that point.
