Give me Sharp, Lindsay, Farrow and Swadling this draft would make me happy
Best two kicks in Lindsay and Farrow
and Best two inside mids Sharp and Swadling
Give me Sharp, Lindsay, Cumming and Farrow this draft would make me happy

Not seeing the love of Swaddling like you

One thing so evident tonight is we need better ball skills.

Would be very happy with that result.

If last years draft was redone tomorrow i'd also literally pick Shanahan at 1. Truly outstanding young prospect.

If last years trade, was redone tomorrow, I take the Carlton picks🤓

Agree on how good Jobe looks but pick 1 is a bit too early. Just remind me how many talls Tigers overlooked before we took Jobe!!!!

Not really.

It's not like we're going "we don't know if Sharp or Rodriguez is number 1". We know that Sharp and Duursma are at the pointy end. We just don't know if they're any good. Those other guys are a level below. Furthermore, if you slide back, you're sliding into a territory where they will be more spuds.

Let's say we take 5 and 10......

Let's say the draft ends up something like this:

Sharp
Duursma
Greeves
CDT
Schubert
Lindsay
Rodriguez
Grlj
Hibbins-Hargreaves
Cumming
Barker
Ludowyke

If we take#2 to the draft, we get Duursma, CDT, Lindsay, or Rodriguez.

Lets say we swap for #5 and #10.

We might get one of Lindsay or Rodriguez. Might. Then at 10, you have to choose out of 4 or 5 options, and there's a good chance there's 1 gun, 1 okay, and 3 spuds. Which one do you choose?

But, if you get Lindsay or Fred at 5 anyway, 10 is for free, right?

Maybe.

The club will have a list with breaks. They'll roughly know which players each club is taking. If a deal can be done and they're still going to get their man, they'll do a deal. Otherwise, they won't.

I don't think they're sitting there (like we are) and going, "well a player out of this pool, and a player out of that pool, is better than only one player out of the top pool".

They'll know who they want. If they can do a deal and still get him, they'll do it.

I think this draft gets dicey really early. I think a club would have to offer a real early pick for us to bite (i.e. #5 like you mentioned).
No way Fred is going top 5 after playing mostly mid for 3 champs games & his top disposal count is 19.

Not sure if anyone read this ESPN puff piece on Sharp.

Interesting to note they point out he doesn't drive from stoppages, doesn't surge through traffic but rather hold space, which may limit his damage at the top level.

And no forward impact like Lalor despite averaging more goals at the champs!

You don’t offer him more money without a signature. And we’ve offered him a shit tonne of money already.
Feel the issue is more or less

Eagles offered 1.7 mill. Essendon offered 2.5 mill. Reids management wants us to match Essendons offer but we dont want to be so irresponsible.

Struth I thought the Cameron talk had been put to bed already.

We're back to where we were 2 weeks ago I see.

Dude. How long have you been here?

Back to where we were two weeks ago is par for the course on Bigfooty.

We only just recently stopped mentioning Bock and Gunston.

Darn it, we are back mentioning Bock and Gunston.

So Excited Omg GIF

Sooooo that Kelly 2 year contract hey? Who was the master mind behind that one?
Yep, on the back of the trade of pick 3 last year into Kelly and Hutchinson deals. It’s starting to become a worry of who is making these calls.

It's all part of the master plan; you can't trade Kelly to Fremantle if he doesn't have a contract

Clarke Kent.

The guy seems to have the Sadim touch.

The dilemma.
Cripps looks done but can kick goals from limited opportunities.
Kelly cant impact a game or hit the side of a barn with his kicking.
Is Brockman the answer to Cripps looking done?
Is Gross better at HF than both Cripps and Kelly?

No not quite yet but, we need to get him into the side to develop him because in 12 months time yes he will be better that both these older options.

One thing that I do really like about Gross, is that he is a hustler and has a real dip.

As a few others have commented on earlier, we really need Noah Long to get back to his pre injury form.
His precise quick ball movement and good decision making have been missed, as has his handy ground ball opportunistic work when he loiters around the goal face.

that's my take, the pressure he applies and fact he is a hustler like you say makes me think maybe Cripps is expendable.
Is Brockman ready to be the man that does the hard running?

It’s not a dilemma at all. He used to get his goals by working up and down the ground.:: now he can’t leave the forward 50 to apply pressure, sits ahead of the ball for a turnover and only gets near the ball if his mate Liam Ryan kicks it in his vicinity… it’s time to put him out to pasture

Both long and gross have a crack and need to be in the side. They have plenty of upside
