Is there a trade option where we give up pick 2 for Cameron and Ed Allan? (add extra picks/swaps as required) That sounds like a hefty price for us in isolation but a quality outside player is arguably our biggest need this offseason, we'll still have pick 1 to use on the player of our choosing, and we'd still have the Hawks' first to fill a role.

No.

Here is my position:

1. Take balanced or bulls with top 5.
2. If there is an absolute gun KPF, consider taking him
3. Do not take outside mids with top 5 picks unless you already have a full compliment midfield, or he is exceptional
*** Yes, there are exceptions like Nic Nat, but it's rare.

So what do we have, and what is happening?

1. Sharp is the best player. Suits our needs. Not a slam dunk by any means, but lock him in.
2.
Rule out Greeves as we probably take Sharp
Who else is in that top group? Duursma. CDT. Both are captain risky.
How good is Lindsay? Good, but not on McKercher level. Reach.
There is nobody at McKercher level this draft
Cumming? Rodriguez? Probably a reach.
Grlj? NHH? Not even top 10.
Schubert? We're wrangling Waterman, William, Shanahan, Reid. Lets put a KPF on hold.

I don't see a lot of options. I don't have a hard on for Duursma, but he to me, is the best option. Unless we get offered a good trade.

With Hawks R1? I'm not "locked in to a midfielder". I'm not locked on anyone. Come draft eve, when we sort of know the top 10, I'll have a ranked short list. Last year, my preferred was Xavier Lindsay, an outsider.
Only reason you arent "locked in to a midfielder" at the hawks 1st is because you want to take 2 mids at 1+2, consider other options, open your mind, you dont have to be this way.

Sharp, Duursma, Greeves, CDT, Schubert, Lindsay, Rodriguez, Cumming

That's roughly the top 8. After that, I think there is a sharp drop. And Hawks R1 is probably at 12. I'm highly unlikely to want a midfielder here. The good ones have gone. We're looking at Mitch marsh, NHH, Faz, etc.
Or we could just take a balanced mid at whatever the hawks 1st ends up at. There will be at least a couple around there.
So basically, you think you can build a flag side drafting midfielders in the teens? You have this back to front. You use your top picks balanced/bulls, and use teen picks for outsiders, small forwards, KPD's, etc.
LOL no how tf did you come up with this type of comment? Not once did I even hint at this

I'm taking Duursma at 2, and he's a reach. I'm far from the only one who thinks Lindsay is a reach at 2.
1. Take balanced or bulls with top 5.
??
I get it, you like soft players who play bruise-free footy. You can see someone for that, you know.
LOL

1. I'm not locked into a midfielder at Hawks R1 because I typically prefer taking midfielders higher. If Rodriguez and Cumming are available, I would strongly consider. But generally, I'm not taking non-outside midfielders here.

2. This what you just don't get:

The best balanced, bulls, and outsiders are all available at top 5.
Once you start getting up to about pick 7, the best balanced and bulls are gone. But the best outsiders usually remain.

So why would you use a top 5 pick for an outsider and then a teens pick for a balanced?

Seriously, please answer. You've never addressed this.

I haven't seen enough of Busslinger to make a direct comparison with Brock.

Brock has shown promise, but I think at times he can be a bit soft with his efforts.
Early days yet though.

I personally don't think he's lacking effort. More he's a a semi weak spoiler through lack of physical strength and core thickness (body spoil)

Unsure if it’s been covered in this forum, apologies if so.

Have it on good word, Bobby Hill has done the dirty on his partner. She has packed up and left with the kids, back to Perth. Has told him, he needs to come home if he wants to see them at all.

What would he be worth in a trade? We have quite a few small forwards, but none of this quality.

Freo you would think, would be right in the market after losing out on Pickett.

Yeah I reckon that Hawks first but I reckon Freo will be all over it with their first. (If true and he wants to return to Perth)

Not a long enough pole in the southern hemisphere for me to want to touch him with

Big No

Fair effort when you're only rocking the single ball.

Id love to get Hill but we really have/will get far too many small forwards and mids who will rotate in and out of hff.

Forget Hill.

Get Cockburn to give them Fatboy Darcy.

Which would then in turn free up Cameron to come here. Only way I can see us getting him "on the cheap" is if they're already gift wrapped another ruckman.

Who 👏🏽 says 👏🏽 no?

Love Hill as a player but he’s a real icing-not-cake type, and we’ve got no cake. Would be wasted in our forward line and don’t see him shifting into the middle.

Mind you I didn’t see Ryan doing that either.
