We cut 10, get 2 extra rookie spots.

That's 12.

The mix needs to be around 7/8 kids and 4/5 mature / semi mature players. Give or take.

Semi mature players could be Moyle 23, Phillips 23, Dev 24 or Blight 23 etc. Don't cost us top picks or they are mature mid season draftees like we have been getting.

A mature 26 year old isn't a stop gap either.

We use our top picks on kids plus NGA with late picks or are Cat B's that cost nothing.

12 x 18 yr olds is not how we get support for our midfield.

I'd bring in a mature enforcer type who would dish it back to flogs taking out Harley or any of the kids off the ball. That blind hit by the Freo forward an example. You Kent's start picking off our #1 player or kids off the ball you pay a price. Don't care if they get weeks.

Geez Willem Duhrsma first VFL game for Casey was impressive racked up plenty of possessions playing wing, ran hard both ways, looked good overhead and has a penetrating kick on him.
Could easily seem him transitioning into the midfield.
Would take him and Sharp at 1 & 2

I know after his first indiscretion plenty of eagles players didn't want him back.( this came directly from a player, not much of a player but someone on the list for a long time who was possibly working at the club at the time)Can't imagine that changed much after the airport incident and then leaving to go to Port
I realise not many of those players are left now but the betrayal those at the club felt back then would make it near impossible for Willie to come back

No McCarthey is a mid season draft pick.

Do not trade out pick 1 or pick 2 (if we get it) and even hawks 1R
