Don't really remember him playing elsewhere. Did we try him on a forward flank or wing?

Mostly wing from memory. He seemed to follow the Wellingham trajectory of struggling in the midfield, then finally settling in when tried down back.

Yeah we hoped Jetta would be the 40 goal winger he was at the Swans like in their premiership year, that didn't work out as planned

It's a very big outlier for the rest of his career that one season in 2012

Jack Darling form has been crap all season, I would trade him out without a second thought.
Notwithstanding that Jack is important for the future of the team as JK retires and Oscar continures to develop, You can’t trade anyone out in the AFL unless they want to go. There is 0 chance chance Jack is interested in leaving.

They basically created a pagans paddock for Jetta to use his pace to run into. Teams figured it out / they got tippet then buddy.

For some reason - I remember this from the board at the time - we put him on the wing and then didn't kick to him.
I remember many occasions that Jetta would be streaming past for the handball receive and the brains trust that is our midfield would just go the long bomb into the 50 instead

Yeah I remember seeing him standing basically straddling the boundary at Subi calling for the ball, and wondering whether they weren’t passing it to him because they didn’t think to look there, or because they weren’t confident they could get it to him without putting it OOF.

So we should find out who is being sacked this week. Call it list management but reality is that we will have a minimum 4 if not 8 players leave the club a probably leave their career behind.

Venables - already announced
Ainsworth - pretty damn obvious
Vardy - cooked
Hutchings - cooked
Ah Chee - had enough chances and cannot justify him

Ben Johnson - may get a rookie reprieve
Jamieson - borderline but likely to get a rookie spot

Brander - who knows but expecting him to be traded for something well short of pick 13

Hurn and JK - likely playing on but don’t worry, we will pick up Bethany Aged Care as a new sponsor to help restore the profits and top up the credits in the bank

Jamieson will be safe he`s a keeper , the rest is pretty good call ..

How good was that one goal in 2018 though?

Yeah look, i like what you're trying to say fam, but the fact is they're BOTH sh*t.

There's really very little that separates them.

Ah chee was scoreless in 3 of 5 games and bagged 4 of his 5 goals in a single match. Waterboy was goalless in 5/14 games but scored multiples in 6 games, including a bag of 4.

Waterman might end up being a bust but given it was his first season at the level his consistency was streets ahead.

Ac chee is an interesting one, played really well in his few games this year but destroyed by injury. Dare I say a one year contract?

depends on how tight the salary cap is.

he is the type of player that is great for depth.

I'm not as 'doom and gloom' about 2022 as some others around here - but we do need to cut ties with Ah Chee (and probably Hutch), as keeping them on as our depth players really does cry of 1-last-crack list management.

We've got Edwards, West and Trew as young mids. And surely (surely) bring in at least 2 more through the draft (and possibly others in trade).

We've got Petch, Cameron, Winder and JJ as young (ish) forwards. That doesn't even include Ryan and Waterman who are both under 25.

I guess Brander could be added to either list also - but there is no guarantee he stays (or, if he does, there is no guarantee on position...)

As much as Ah Chee can offer a little more than many of these in those positions - unless we are going deep in September he's not doing anything other than stunting development of the above.

So looks like Swans have screwed the pooch on their salary cap management, which is why they are struggling to get Parker signed again.

They will likely get that done for Parker, but it means the like of Hewett, Dawson and Stephens are gettable with the Crows already being heavily linked to get Stephens home.
Common theme in reports on possible list changes at the moment is clubs having salary cap issues with some struggling just to retain players they have, let alone chase someone from another club.

So yes, WCE do have a tight salary cap that prevents us chasing anyone, but it isn’t forcing us to shed a required player (that we currently know of). Keep that in mind anyone that wants to criticise the club for poor salary cap management

Don’t think we should be spending that sort of coin on a Vardy upgrade.

For that money we could have retained Lycett which would have been preferable so no way I want to pay that for Lobb

With Darling I really think he may have been playing some type of injury that was a hindrance but probably not going to get worse.
With JK in and out a bit with injury and Oallen the same and then played all over the place it probably made it hard for Darling to take a break and get whatever niggle he had fixed.
Hopefully if he is all mended over the summer and JK plays another season we can get the "Three headed beast" back up and firing if we can keep Oallen out of the ruck and kept forward.

We need inside bulls, surprise surprise, and speed.
