Christ Sydney would make me speeeeew.

Buddy, Dusty and Nic at the Swans.

AFL House would be stoked.

Adopt an anything goes in trading to prevent the Dockers winning one.

Identify weaknesses in contenders and offer up any of our old boys that are keen as a solution.

NN to Sydney;
Kennedy and Darling to the Dogs;
Yeo to Carlton;
Shuey to Nth Werribee Vets (I hear they may be in contention and have experience dealing with soft tissue injuries).

Seems to have been a real influx of players’ parents on the board lately.
Riewoldt, Richardson, Febey’s, Birchall, Wright, Manson, Lynch, Fletcher, Alexander, Fletcher, Thomas, Robertson, etc other love childs.

Certainly, focus more on a few Tassie players these days. flipping less of them. Don’t get me started.

Just remember all the whores are actually in Perth, the holiday trip is just 4 blokes surfing lol. I do love that somehow i'm referenced to whore island now.

We will never forget your contribution to this board.

The tragedy of your unholey plan is that this would not strengthen any of the listed teams - we are in such a hole.

AFL Academy Squad to take on Collingwood VFL side this weekend, down at Frankston.

Last years team got slaughtered vs Geelong VFL but other years like Rowells beat Demons affiliate. I personally think partially shows the quality of the draft, does depend on the quality of the VFL side they are playing though. Last year's academy side had also missed a lot of footy due to covid though.

First real game where we can compare a Wardlaw vs Hewett or Tsatas.

What's the bigfooty hive mind's thoughts on taking a key defender:straining: with our 1st pick in the ND? #2 behind north because I don't want the spoon and they're still worse than us even with 18 of our best 22 injured.

No thanks. Gov isn’t going anywhere for a few years and we still have Barrass, Edwards and Bazzo.

Id try Dixon at CHB before looking to add another one. His field kicking could be a real weapon if we ever put him back there.

I'm a big fan of having a good spine of KPP (2018) rather than having to scratch around like (2005) and if there's an opportunity to grab a real quality player I think we should take it.
If Edwards and Bazzo can come on and become really good players and we pick up another Key Defender, then we will have a surplus obviously which is fine for depth but you lose the opportunity to have a crack late or mid draft at someone you really rate. Kind of like taking Venables over Allen because you need mids and have enough key forwards already.

Yeah, we were so rubbish in 2005.

Personally I'd take a great midfield with a crap spine (2005) over a crap midfield with a great spine (2020).

If we weren’t so desperate for quality mids I’d agree with you. If we are balancing list needs vs best available we should be loading up on mids even if there’s a decent KPD on offer. Bazzo was highly rated and was considered a slider when we got him. McGovern is in AA form and he isn’t going anywhere soon, so we’re looking good in defence for the next few years atleast.

Since 2000, 425 players have been taken in the first round of the national draft.

53 of those have become premiership players.

Of those, 31 (59%) are midfielders.

I'd prefer us to play the percentages here and go midfield-heavy.

For the record, just 3 premiership-winning first round draftees from the past 20 years have been key defenders (J.Lever, H.Taylor, A.Rance), with each of those taken at pick 14 or lower.

Whats the odds we can grab a few GOAT's and then another 3 All Australian level guys in the next few drafts:disrelieved:.
Some theoreticals:

Jeremy McGovern or Isaac Smith or Darcy Parish
Caleb Serong or Todd Goldstein or Kurt Tippet (fwd only)
Jake Lever or Toby Greene or Jacob Hopper
