Double edge safety razor + blades. Much cheaper in the long-term over a cartridge razor and gives a closer shave to boot!

Takes a little bit of learning and the upfront cost is a little high (~$100) but I've used the same razor + pack of blades for 3+ years without problem.

+1 for double edged safety razors. Much cleaner shave, less irritation, more hygienic, and substantially cheaper. $20 for a pack of 100 replacement blades and I change blades twice a week, so total ongoing costs are $20 a year.

Contrast that with my prior razor, the Gillette Fusion blades cartridge razors are $45 for 10 and you'd be hard pressed to more than 5-7 days out of each cartridge before it needs to be replaced. Safety razors are night and day better than the garbage Gillette sells, the only drawback is they need to go in checked baggage when flying.

My dog can be anxious at times and this is a great way to keep him occupied during those moments. He usually comes back feeling pretty refreshed.

I mostly use wet dog food but peanut butter also works (warning: peanut butter is absurdly hard to clean off afterwards).
