SA have taken 1 plane load of travelers in 3 months, any time they want to actually pull their own weight instead of letting everyone else do their quarantine then being lippy about how great they are that would be nice.

But nobody wants to come to SA, just ask Dan Andrews :)

ahhh Chiefy - forever defending the left, even if it means backing in a demented old Biden who can barely string a complete sentence together.
So... when you're ready to discuss the facts.

8 staff at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital have tested positive and hundreds are now quarantining. The hospitals infection controls appear to have broken down

Health Reporter Dana McCauley reports today that access to the hospital's COVID-19 ward has been restricted after workers raised concerns about infection controls.
Staff are concerned about infection control at the Alfred's COVID-19 ward.

Staff are concerned about infection control at the Alfred's COVID-19 ward.
A healthcare worker at the hospital, who spoke to The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald on condition of anonymity, said there were serious concerns about infection control in the ward.
Photographs taken inside the restricted area this week show rubbish bins overflowing with contaminated clinical waste including discarded medical gowns and other personal protective equipment.
Staff are concerned about infection control at the Alfred's COVID-19 ward.
"I had to touch the bin lid with my hands to get PPE off," the worker said.
"It's disgusting and dangerous."

The Age and the Sydney Morning Herald have been told by multiple hospital sources they include a ward clerk, a pharmacy student, a pharmacy assistant, a nurse and a respiratory intern who may have had contact with lung transplant and intensive care patients.

What’s so hard about quarantine? You keep returned travellers away from everybody else. Victoria forked it up royally.

Well since every state has had issues with it. Wa had a bloke escape, nsw had a lady escape and guards asleep on the job.

Sa just didn't take anyone happy to let everyone else do the work then tell everyone how great they are.

Right....I can just make up rubbish as well.

Worrying times...the virus seems to be spreading across Melbourne more and more each day.

These small clusters will start occurring more and more over the coming weeks unfortunately. It is why Andrews and co. have gone with a 6-week lockdown...the issue is a lot of Victorians are naive, arrogant and dumb...hopefully they actually do the right thing and STAY HOME.

Exactly . You accept that a percentage of the quarantined individuals are liabilities and you do the job. You dont employ poorly trained security that are liabilities themselves and then say -every state has had breaches it could happen to anyone- . Quarantine is not difficult.

I wonder if people realize how many kids from the restricted areas actually go to regional schools?

I’m assuming James Merlino (Education Minister) will provide more clarification with technicalities like this when he speaks today.... (apparently at 11am)

The school thing is a worry.
Quite a lot of kids leave restricted areas to go to Regional schools, also countless kids are from split marriages with parents in a cross between regional and Metropolitan.
I’m just one example who has had a child with me for second week of holidays and have to take her to school in Ballarat tomorrow where she will be back with mum.
Seems a lot safer to just leave all schools closed for an extra week.

Amazing how much reclassification goes on with the Victorian and NSW case numbers .If WA ever gets a reclassification its always a plus one from an inconclusive test result a few months ago.

Reclassifying is really just shuffling deck chairs on the titanic at this point

Can't see Melbourne's restrictions being eased by 20 August.

Touch wood but at least we haven't popped over 300 yet, it's been a week since the hot spots got quarantined should see how we are tracking next week after the full lockdown.

People are still ******* dumb though, they should have locked down everywhere west of the yarra right at the start.

The lockdown on hotspots/restricted postcodes have been in effect for over 1 week and we don't seem to be seeing a decrease in cases.

Next week's figures will tell us whether a lockdown can be effective to suppress numbers once we see large community spread.

That was the most logical thing to do. No point in bringing down the whole of Melbourne that's relatively clean with the virus infested North and West.

And it's still out that way most of the spread is, because they won't properly enforce the lockdown. Will eventually spread elsewhere because people from the west are ****ed
