Seems like a recipe for good leadership to me?

Successful leaders should be flexible and these are extraordinary times, but Johnson did write two columns on Brexit before deciding which side to and on (the one that advanced him most)

Just to recall, on February 13 when Snake_Baker said the coronavirus virus was all just media hype made up to distract from "climate change", JOURNALISTS were reporting the actual facts: 254 people died from it in China that day, cases rose to 59,804.

Remember this when he spills out his hypocritical and inconsistent bile.

He was wrong, completely and utterly wrong. And he's unable to even admit he was wrong.

If Australia has listened to Snake, scientific megabrain, we would be utterly screwed. Thousands more people would die.

Luckily we didn't.

Politicians (another target of Snake) DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what Snake wanted, and thank God they did.

I said most trusted, not highest rating.

ABC remains the most trusted media company in Australia “by far” according to Roy Morgan Research.

It was followed by Nine, SBS, Newscorp, Facebook and Seven West Media (however Facebook also topped a list of most Distrusted media corporation).

It is like when Duck played for Adelaide, a once proud gun hobbling around embarrassing himself.

Well, I'll let you know whether they did take advice or not when the national cabinet reports become publicly available in the national archives in a few decades time.

Those will be fascinating reading for those of us still alive. In the meantime, the National Cabinet, Cabinet itself, departments, chief medical officers and any of the working groups/committees advising are likely to be disagreeing internally on aspects of the advice being offered and policy responses. Immunologists and other experts have not been publicly unanimous in their views on the best way to respond. And that would suggest that members of the Australian Health Protection Principals Committee have different views as well - and the egos flying around those types of working groups can be substantial.

Speaking of which, howabout the egos and simmering resentment in the National Cabinet with its Labor and Liberal premiers and Liberal PM. Then there's the state public service health departments each with their secretaries' views and general mistrust of the 'feds'. Somehow decisions are made but apparently National Cabinet meetings have become increasingly contested and firey.

immunosuppressants and bats was such a stupid idea..

All the best mate. [emoji106]

Our house is in semi lockdown now with the kids and I having endured a week of high temps, relentless coughing and the like. Fortunately it’s included sneezing, which seems to rule out Covid-19, but Mrs Toes was struck down with it last night as well and she managed to get into Monash Med Centre today for the swab test. I’ve improved, as has my daughter, with the little bloke and missus struggling. I’m fairly certain it’s just been a bad chest infection but Mrs Toes’ test results will reveal the truth.

Being immunocompromised sucks at times like the present but we’re avoiding as many risk factors as possible.

Hopefully you guys just have a regular bug, as I suspect we do. Fingers crossed anyway! 🤞
Get well soon toes family

" It is an RNA molecule of about 30,000 bases containing 15 genes"

15 bloody genes. The thing is barely even active.

Who would have thought that out of 30,000 measly bases & only 15 genes, that something like this could have evolved to interact with humans.

For probably the first time in my life, I feel a sense of impending doom.

This possibly sounds a bit over the top, but I'm a 50+ yo bloke who is a steroid dependent chronic asthmatic who also has sarcoidosis of the lungs. I've been hospitalised four times previously (not in recent years) with pneumonia and when younger, had asthma severe enough to be intubated in ICU. Basically, if I get this, I'm pretty well stuffed.

I'm taking the appropriate precautions and working from home, social isolation, washing my hands, etc like a banshee, but just cannot shake the feeling that I'm going to get it somewhere along the line due to my lowered immunity.

This bastard virus hasn't even really started with us in this country yet and judging by what I'm seeing in the media, there's an awful lot of people not taking it seriously.

This is what alarms me the most. I could simply be taking the dog for a walk around the block and pick it up because some w***er thinks they're invincible.

Scary days.
