Intentional, low impact, body contact = fine. Dumb thread, clueless OP.

Low impact to the body. Barely connected. Had no impact on TW’s ability to play out the game. I think it was partially a defensive action - he’d just copped a fair shove from Walker that sent him sprawling to the ground, flipped over and still saw Walker coming at him. Walker had no intent, but Cotchin didn’t know that at the time, and as I said before had just been sent to the turf by him. Was possibly still intimidated by TW’s power ranger stance as well.

Fine is fair enough. Worth it to hear the bleating about how the three-time premiership captain (and Brownlow Medallist, Victorian State captain) shouldn’t have even been playing in the 2017 GF.

Cotchin did kick Walker.

But the force was so minor it could never have been more than a fine. Absolutely no potential to cause injury.

Now o/p please change the “l” to an ’n” in the thread title so we can all have a laugh. 😁

Cotchins always been a cheap shot kinda bloke.

Only reason he got a Brownlow as the AFL is too gutless to hold him to account.

Nothings changed.
He got a Brownlow because they held a son of football royalty to account, but they were too gutless to hold Trent Cotchin to account?

And as an aside, what was Trent meant to be held accountable for in the 2012 season?

ahh the AFL acquitted the players. The WADA appeal was what convicted them

"Cotchin was found guilty of kicking in an incident assessed as intentional contact, low impact and body contact."

There's barely any contact or force in it, that's never going to be a suspension. You can't really argue with the grading and under the rules a fine is the correct result. Wake up, have any of you followed this game at all?

some things should be a week minimum. Any intentional kicks, trips etc

Lots of things "should" or "shouldnt" in the AFL, there's flaws in the system everywhere.

This was never going to be a suspension under the current rules.
