The new thread for discussing this topic.

Anti-vaccination and Covid-denying posts will be removed and posters carded.

We're no longer a channel for spreading that material.

Thank you.

Here we will compile brief list of answers to some common misinformation.

The Vaccines are still being trialed:

The Covid-19 vaccine trials have been published in peer reviewed journals. The data collection and analysis are ongoing, in order to allow up to two years of follow up on participants.

These vaccines are now the most studied and monitored vaccines in the world.

The trials didn't go for long enough.

The length of trials is most often a factor of money and access to trial participants.

Covid vaccine trials have had no shortage of either and have been completed very quickly as a result.

mRNA vaccine technology is brand new.

It is not:

These vaccines—and the ones that use messenger RNA (mRNA), in particular—are building on decades of scientific research.
  • Fundamental research (sometimes called basic research) focuses on the underlying mechanisms of biology and the cellular, molecular, and physiological basis for health and disease.
  • Applied research teases out the knowledge acquired through fundamental research in the hopes of putting it to a specific use, like new medicines and therapies.
The story behind these mRNA vaccines and the related technologies involves hundreds of people all over the world who have worked in fundamental and applied areas of research over time. Their efforts helped to create the knowledge base that led to the wonderful vaccine developments we're seeing at work today.

Bulgaria is doing fine with low vaccination. (Substitute "Africa" or other low-vaccination areas)

Bulgaria has a high rate of hospitalisation, high rates of Covid denial, and a low rate of Covid testing. Their case numbers are under-reported by a large margin.

The thing I hate the most is the "wait and see" narrative.

They know what the plan is. They're following the exact same rulebook as Israel, Europe, USA. Boosters will be here soon, let's not pretend they won't. They're probably already on order. Just cut the charade.

I personally believe the AstraZenecca vaccine is the "penicllin" of our generation. Id personally say that giving Bill Gates the Nobel Prize isnt enough. We should give Bill Gates, the Bill Gates Prize instead and retrospectively award all other award winners the Bill Gates Prize so atleast they now have a award worth winning

What a joke.... I thought this was a conspiracy board and posters would be given latitude to discuss out of the box ideas and views away from the GD & SRP boards that are all about accepted views/narratives.

Talk about rampant censorship and group think.

Vaccination reduces the risk of delta variant infection and accelerates viral clearance. Nonetheless, fully vaccinated individuals with breakthrough infections have peak viral load similar to unvaccinated cases and can efficiently transmit infection in household settings, including to fully vaccinated contacts. Host–virus interactions early in infection may shape the entire viral trajectory

We found that the secondary attack rate in fully vaccinated household contacts was high at 25%, but this value was lower than that of unvaccinated contacts (38%). Risk of infection increased with time in the 2–3 months since the second dose of vaccine.

Households are the site of most SARS-CoV-2 transmission globally.

Notwithstanding, these findings indicate continued risk of infection in household contacts despite vaccination. Our estimate of SAR is higher than that reported in fully vaccinated household contacts exposed before the emergence of the delta variant. The time interval between vaccination and study recruitment was significantly higher in fully vaccinated PCR-positive contacts than fully vaccinated PCR-negative contacts, suggesting that susceptibility to infection increases with time as soon as 2–3 months after vaccination—consistent with waning protective immunity. This potentially important observation is consistent with recent large-scale data and requires further investigation.

What is the point of this thread if it's just the same narrow discussion that is already catered for by numerous other threads?

After all it wasn't that we were guilty of the above, maybe a little bit sometimes when sorely provoked.

Hmm, not quite. Several posters in these threads semi regularly declare unprompted that covid doesn't actually exist, for example.

Same with anti-vax - you'd have to be a moron to take it, will kill millions over the coming years etc.

Is this acceptable?

Pretty much spot on.

So the first two jabs are pretty much useless and QR codes are not about health, thanks for confirming my theory Andrews you clown.

How disturbing is that " we need to know where you are, who you're with and for how long " Sounds like an overbearing parent.

Depending on your definition of anti-vaxx, any support given to anti mandate positions could violate the terms.

Oh boy oh boy!
Looks like Dapper DAN! is about to get his legislation passed.

 Booster shots every 2-3 months?

Wow! That paper clearly and unambiguously states that vaccination reduces your chances of getting infected for at least 2-3 months after getting vaccinated.

Obviously if you don't get infected, you also can't pass it on to others.

So the vaccine mandates have some hard science to back them up.

Thanks for providing it!

Combined with other data that clearly shows the vaccines also provide 95 percent protection against severe, critical or fatal COVID if you do manage to get infected while vaccinated, and also combined with data that shows adverse reactions from vaccines are incredibly rare (1 death from Pfizer in Australia from 30 million doses given)...

It looks like getting vaccinated is a total no brainier!

Depending on your definition of anti-vaxx, any support given to anti mandate positions could violate the terms.
you can very easily and clearly be anti mandate without being antivax

So the first two jabs are pretty much useless

No, they're not useless. The jabs reduce your chances of getting COVID (and thus passing it on to others), and also provide 95 percent protection from death or serious illness when you do get it.

and QR codes are not about health

Yes, they are about health.

Is this acceptable?

Pretty much spot on.

It's incorrect.

Vaccines offer a LIKELIHOOD of protection. Vaccines usually do not provide 100% protection. This is not controversial and has never been denied.

If you are vaccinated, you can still get the virus and can still develop Covid-19.

Now that this has been explained, no you may not spread this "vaccines don't work" misinformation in here as if it is fact.
