according SEN cox will miss the next 8 weeks with a suspected broken ankle, Ch10 have also reported he will miss 8 weeks.

i find it hard to believe that considering when the injury occured he kept playing later on in the match. i think he may miss 1 or 2 weeks but 8 is just not possable.

News in from the only site you should trust AFL.COM.AU, that Dean Cox is ok, but could miss round 4. they dont want to push him to play this week if it causes him to miss more weeks.

I can't believe that either.

I thought channel 10 said if it's a broken foot he is out for 8 weeks. No confirmation yet. Still awaiting more scans.

Think ill wait for official word from WCE or AFL.

firstly, how could there be a definite answer on how long a player will miss if the injury is only suspected - we obviously have to wait for confirmation and scans results.

i do believe it possible for a player to play out a game and to still miss a large amount of time afterwards; these days, players are tough and at times stubborn. he probably just got an injection, had it wrapped and came back on. he's an important player, and they really needed him. i've heard players play out the rest of games after doing an acl. Porpz looked like he dislocated his shoulder; he had an injection, had it further wrapped and came back on to play out the game; because crows lacked a bench for rotations and they needed him; but that doesn't necessarily mean the injury is only minor. hopefully, for all these players sake, it is, but i also wouldn't be shocked if it wasn't.

SEN need to get there act togeather, their quickly becoming unreliable for sports updates

get it togeather or lose long time listeners like myself

Lenny Hayes hurt his knee in the game against the Kangaroos but kept playing and after the match it was discovered he would need a complete knee re-construction and missed the rest of the year.

according to the afl website, he's scans came up as negative and he should be able to play this week! =] he only hurt a few ligaments in his foot but he still played out the entire game. good signs. worsfold says he is optomistic that cox will play this week

... ??

surely if you are a long time listener, you would know that they aren't becoming unreliable.

They've always been unreliable.

But hey, that's what happens when you report on the bleeding edge, you get stuff wrong. (well, that and when you let people ring up with "rumours")

Still, beats waiting for the official "club line" though. :D
