Was lucky enough to be joined in my morning commute to the office by the voice of Neil Craig on SEN.
The early questions being asked were in relation to the age coaches should stop coaching and if they had expiery dates etc etc. Quite normal responces by Neil saying experience is invaluable tc etc.
On to the good stuff.
Was asked about Trent Hetschel, Craig said he is now treated as anyone else at the club, no special love for Rowdy anymore, said he continues to improve which each game, the last of which resulting in 4 goals, still fairy standard Craigy. He said his 2 pocket goals were an example of him being able to do things a lot can't, he is just a really telanted player.
He was then asked about our forward line.
He said that it's staring to look very good, mentioned Tippett, Hentschel, Walker, Porplyzia. Was interesting to hear him out Porp as a forward. He only mentioned these 4 names and said they'd look quite good.
Craig then interupted to mindless banter between Tim & Andrew and the hilarious Gazey to say "Then there's Taylor Walker, who is a special talent" and before they could respond Craigy ripped out and enthusiastic "and do you know what I mean by special talent?" Once again not letting them respond (as Craigy most likely has come to the conclusion there a tad slow (Gaze exempt)) "The type of player who can just do things others wont ever be able to to. The type that inspires players and supporters. The type of player, as a coach, you go to bed and dream about. He's just that talented."
Almost rammed my car up someones rear end after hearing Craigy get fired up.
Gazey then came on and asked about our basketball boys.
Craig menioned Henderson and Tippett and how their ability to know what's around them in close quick reactions were "excellent". That they just had to become accostmed to the things "we" learn as 9 year olds playing the game.
Seemed very up beat about Henderson, and of course Tippett.
Hope I didn't leave anything out, but there's some food for thought and some fuel to add to the fire that is Taylor Walker.

Interesting
I really, really like listening to Craig's interviews, even when he is stonefaced and won't arc up, but even more so when he does.
