Obviously we should've put MJ in poos and wees colours.
hawks board are saying crawford got 1 week fo Bell and a reprimand for Dunn

Hawthorn's Shane Crawford is facing a one-match ban following the match review committee’s assessment of the weekend’s matches.

The 1999 Browlow Medallist has been charged for striking in two separate incidents in Saturday’s NAB Challenge match against Fremantle.

The first, against Ryley Dunn in the third quarter, was considered a level two striking offence. He can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record with an early plea, due to his existing good record.

He was also charged with a level three offence for striking Peter Bell during the fourth quarter. For this, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea, due to his existing good record.

Geelong’s James Kelly is facing a two-match suspension after being charged with engaging in rough conduct against the Lions' Jed Adcock during the third quarter of the NAB Cup semi-final. It was assessed as a level three offence, so he can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea.

The panel also assessed contact between Geelong's Corey Enright and the Lions' Justin Sherman in the first quarter of Friday's NAB Cup match at Telstra Dome. The panel decided that Enright made contact to Sherman, but it was not considered forceful contact and the point of impact was to the side of Sherman, so no charges were laid.

It doesn't matter how sh**house the tribunal is....how much we cr*p on about them.....how much sh*t we give them on the radio etc....NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.

How does Kelly get just 2 weeks....& Johnno gets 4?...fair enough he could've copped a 3 match ban if he pleaded guilty eraly...BUT still there is a discreptancy there....always will be.

& crawford?....the tribunal is telling players that it is better to run down your opponent & hit him outwardly, then crouch down to shephaerd a player & accidentally hit them in the head. Difference is 3 weeks.

Dean Solomon - the ball is in your court derby day - U KNOW WHAT 2 DO

So you can hit them in the head as much as you want unless there ehad is over the footy is that what they are saying?
Kellys hit was far worse than Johnnos other than his ehad wasnt over the footy. What an absolute load of crap, nothing like a double standard.

Surely both of Crawfords were behind play, high impact, to the head and reckless. I don't know how much that should add up to, but it's more than one bloody week!

If any of you were at the game you would of seen Crawford hit Dunn...on the shoulder and didnt hit him high:rolleyes:\

Secondly the bell incident was not behind play, was a fair hit, got him too high though, i was predicting 2 weeks, but one is fine

may i ask why wasnt bell charged for kicking crawford in the back of the head during the brawl?

I am speechless in regards to this decision when your compare it to MJ's.

I really am.

I did not see the crawford incidents so I will leave the comments to those who did. But it stinks to high hell from where I am sitting.

i actually thought 2 weeks for crawf because there are MUCH worse incidents, but he was very sloppy with the shepered, bell was putting it on a bit, but crawf i think has escaped major suspension via good record

Just like MJ's clean record helped him out.

I was at the game and he hit Dunn in the head. Don't lie.

And was it a 'fair hit' when Mitchell got one to the jatz because it was 'in play'? Cracking someone in the throat is not a fair hit regardless of where they were.

no he hit him in the shoulder
also, cracking implies crawford punched him, and didnt sheperd...:o

If you are reported twice in one game are the points added together, or are they seperate? Crawford got 70.31 points for his hit on Dunn. It doesn't say how many points he got for the hit on Bell, but it was obviously over 100. If the points for hitting Bell added to the 70.31 added up to more than 200 would he have got 2 weeks? I get the impression that he would have still got the one week, which means Dean Solomon could have laid 4 identical bumps in last weeks game, and got four reprimands? Surely if you have 4 offences worth 70 points that equals 280 points and you miss a fortnight.

Since when do you shepherd with an elbow raised to the player's head?

Typical tribunal - the pretty boys get off scott free and they make an example of the youngsters. :thumbsd:

Any moron who thinks the Crawford hit on Dunn was LESS intense than Johnsons hit on the chest of that Kangaroo player is a ****ing idiot.

It boggles my mind how someone can deliberately strike another player and only get one week vs the 3-4 that Johnson got. I'm not saying that Crawford should have got MORE penalty for what he did, but the difference between the two incidents is massive, yet the weaker one gets punished more.

A ****ing farce, just like last year when one of our players gets punched in the head and the other player gets one week for it.

'Cracking' implies he hit him in the throat...which he did. Just because Crawford shepherds with his fist rather than his body or arm doesnt make it less of a strike.

And he hit Dunn in the head.

Don't let it get you down, it's not like it effects your season.
If Bell had a Broken Jaw, then maybe, but I garantee there'll be alot worse 'head scratchers' coming out of the tribunals rulings than the Crawford one during the 2007 season.
It's all part of the AFL's long standing policy of tribunal inconsistencies.

I don't think anyone has it in for Crawf - he's 99/100 a ball player, but lost the plot a bit on Saturday night. It's more the comparison with what Johnno got that is raising the ire of Freo supporters, rather than anything personal against Crawford or the Hawks.

Amen Sista!

Just to put all the recent head high hitting controversy into perspective...this guy Simon from the Islanders is banned indefinitely for this head high hit. More at the throat with a big stick but you get the idea. The last 30 seconds or so of this clip has some great slo-mo replays. Pretty glad the AFL doesn't hand out indefinite suspensions.

One comment on the page cracked me up.

"NHL's a rough game, but that's still compltely uncalled for. I don't think he should be kicked out of the league, but a 25 game suspension seems a bit weak."
