Here's one that popped into my head earlier today. For it to have any merit, I think we have to land Warnock (I really, really hope we do but that's another story).

Seeing the success of Richo on the wing for the Tigers this year, is it at all possible we could use PJ in a similar role?

Let's look at PJ's strengths: great skills for a big man, quick, pretty good endurance, strong overhead.

I'm not saying he's our answer to Richo (he's nowhere near that level) but it could be something interesting to try.

That way we could have Warnock no.1 ruckman, Jamar back-up and PJ roaming the wings and pushing forward. And still pinch-hitting in the ruck when he has to.

Is that crazy or maybe worth thinking about?

(Feel free to chastise me and call me an idiot):p

I think there was a bit of talk about using his attributes as a CHF. Because he really leads up strongly, works hard and his kicking is so good. The problem is that as good as his speed is in a straight line, due to his size his agility is pretty average so he won't give you much forward pressure. Still if we landed Warnock I think you might see him at CHF in the Nab cup, especially because the theory is that Miller is better closer to goal now.

Bails tried this idea with that bloddy gun we picked up last year Messen in the nab cup game down at geelong didnt he?

Obviously he didnt like what he saw.

I can't see them playing 3 ruckmen in the one team, it was bad enough having two in close proximity - this season there seemed to be numerous occasions where we'd have both ruckmen at the one contest and they'd end up cancelling each other out. Gradually Bailey stopped with that tactic, but I think there's merit in playing Johnson on the wing (not too far up though)/up forward from time to time as opposed to resting him on the bench, he certainly has the necessities to do so.

You have to much time on your hands..:) Na Doubt he can play that role for us. His just as useless as Meesen and Jamar. I've got a bad feeling that Carlton the pricks will steal Warnock from us anyhow!!

A dribbling snap goal from the boundry and a run from behind tackle come to mind to counter this assessment.

PJ Highlights = 2
Jamar Highlights = - plenty

Agree with that. It's unfair to say PJ's as bad as Meesen and Jamar. very good around-the-ground for his size.

PJ had good agility for a ruckman but as a wingman not that good. He would get absolutley smashed going the other way!

enough said.

Jamar is ideal tradebait..

PJ would be an awesome back up if we got Warnock..

I reckon he could play wing, but not much point playing him on the
wing if he was backup ruckman - as he would need to come in fresh
and outrun the opposite ruck, hard to do when youve been running hard
down the wing all day..

Jamar is ideal tradebait..

Even if we do get Warnock, if we trade Jamar what happens when one of them gets an injury? PJ is a bit injury prone & Warnock's already had a few injuries in only a couple of years, if we lost one it would put massive pressure on the other as they'd have only Meesen or Spencer backing them up and neither seems up to the job yet.

Jamar is still a required player for a few years yet

piss off mate.
PJ is a jet. one of the most improved at our club this year.
he is one of the best mark's that we had this year and is extremely agile for a ruckman so he dominates most of his opponents around the ground.

and jamar isn't totally useless. he can take a contested mark. although when he does take it he would need to handball it off to someone so that they can kick the goal (even if he's in the goal square)
