Credibility?

I am hoping you will all accept this in the spirit it is meant in, but I was wondering what it takes to have credibility as a poster on the Adelaide Board?

I have noted over the past however many months that certain posters appear to have it yet others may say the same and get no acknowledgement at all.

I have seen posters say something with no discussion made at all, yet another 'respected' poster makes the same point and it is hailed as brilliant.

So i pose the question how does one get credibility?

Credibility can be found at the bottom of a corn flakes box.



Or in my case, credibility can be found under my username!!

I just noticed that Stiffy hasn't posted today and if you check his profile his location is now showing as "Retired from BF"

Stiffy carries this Board through the dull moments with his volume of entertaining posts, and starting new threads. It doesn't matter if you agree with him or not - he's great value.

I'll be one very p*ssed off individual if all that crap about him in this thread has led to something like this.

Thanks PerthCrow + Noddy.....yeah - funny thing is ...I don't feel any different to what I did when I was 18 !!!!!!....and being 40 in a few weeks time doesn't really bother me....it's just when you listen to 20 year olds complaining about ageing....that's the worry !!!!...what must they think of me !!???

How anyone can get too offended by what someone you don't even know says on a message board is beyond me. But that's just my opinion.

Credibility is all perception anyway.

Can't believe Stiffy would quit due to this tread as I think most poeple were talking about hwo people react to him and was not about him personally.

The longer you post here the more people get to know you and treat you in a certain way.

Geneally if people agree with you, its because they actually do or that you ahve earned their "respect" through previous postings.

At the end of the day though its all a bit of fun.

Crickey I never thought my profile would kick up that much of a stink

Firstly thanks a lot to all those people who have PMed me and asked if it was true. With all those PMs I thought I was in stife

I got an SMS from one of the posters asking me what the hell is going on. I haven't read this thread before today so no thats not the reason for my "retirement".

The reason that I won't be around as much is that I am currently involved in a project that will take up a lot of my time over the next few weeks and as a result I won't be around as much as I normally am.

I can assure you that I am NOT quitting BigFooty and no tossbag like jack did it will never push me out the door.

I probably should have started a thread saying whats happening but I didn't. I will still be around but not as much.

Once again thank you all for your support and I am truly humbled by the comments made by you guys.

Back on topic. The thread is a very good one and has some merit. Personally, I often read a page of the thread and often find that a lot of opinions are repeated. What I do is rather than quoting the original I quote the one closest to the bottom of the page. That might erk some people but its just a habit I guess.

Every poster on these boards has my respect unless they are abusive or dead set trolls. I rate Wayne's World and Crow-mosone, macca23 as some of the best posters but our views are often different and we get into deep discussions. IT would be a boring place if we all agreed

Stiffy, good to hear you are still around ... albeit not as regularly.

For the record, personal attacks like those by Jack on Stiffy are not tolerated ... & if warnings are not taken seriously, then they then turn into bannings.

However, different views (even crazy ones) make this place more interesting as a general rule.
