Mark Waugh was the best (or worst) at this.

Thought he'd be LBW every second ball but kept smoking them when in form.

I'm rapt for the kid. Onwards and upwards hopefully

Always thought Mark Waughs test average was 10 runs light on what it should have been. Made it look ridiculously easy at times

First time I've seen this kid bat. Looks pretty good. Got plenty of time to play the ball. I think a good left armer or someone with some pace could exploit his falling away. But those bowlers trouble most batsmen

When my brother comes here from Canadia he is down to shorts and a tshirt if the temperature goes above 10.

He says he wears only a shirt at work if it’s above zero.
My cousin moved from Melbopurne to Canada about 30 years ago. Mid January. It was 35+ when she got on the plane at Tulla and minus 35+ when she got to canada wherever she was staying. That is insane. At least a 70 degree change in temp.

nah Andrew Jones

Lou too busy getting "weather information" from Warnie and Mark Waugh for Chris Cairns

Makes sense. I believe that Warner and Bancroft have booked in for Chris Pringle's ball-tampering masterclass zoom webinar.

We got on the plane in Boston and it was minus 20, a three-hour flight later we got off in Miami and it was about 30 degrees. A 50-degree change was a real shock to the system.

Yeah. I never spoke to her about it properly cos it was years later when we caught up but I always wonfdered how she went. At least going to the cold weather you can rug up and get into a warm place to moderate the change. Going from cold to hot leaves you in the oipposite position. Its a lot harder to cool down than stay warm I reckon, and usually less pleasant.

He's in real estate now, so he obviously doesn't mind being dodgy !
Doesn't mind the pies either just quietly...

I'm pretty sure Chris's first piece of advice will be don't do it when there's 30 cameras on you !

Sounds like sound advice. He might also mention to only do it in a test match with no referee.

I would never be critical of a bloke for liking the pies a little too much. Glasshouses, stones, and all that.

He looked good but had three chances. Lucky innings.

How many times do we see guys top edge for 4 or 6 and never think twice about it. Unlucky it went even close to being caught really and wouldve taken a blinder.

The run out out one i wish the commentators would have discussed more other than saying - he was lucky. Everyone on any team i played, for 20 years it was always the call of the guy running to the danger end. Lucky maybe, but not his fault.

In state cricket. Whos the next young gun bat on the horizon?
not sure, haven't been paying enough attention to it this season. But I would be happy if they would move away from this obsession with putting T20 style batsmen that are entirely hit or miss and pick someone who knows how to bat the situation.

ChoppyGun what are your thoughts on this mate?

India's frontline bowling attack:

Jasprit Bumrah (178cm)
Mohammad Shami (178cm)
Ishant Sharma (193cm)
Umesh Yadav (180cm)
Saini (178cm)
Siraj (179cm)

I didn't think they were that short overall!

I don't see what others see.

But then again. I've only watched him in test matches.

He's organised and has a solid defensive technique. That's it. 21 balls today and not once did he look to hit the ball off the square or even to nudge into a gap and turn over the strike.

Likewise, he bowls a tidy line and good pace, but rarely looks like asking too much of the batsmen.

Worth persevering with but not worthy of the hype he's had.
