I rocked up at the turnstile last night and was stopped. The person in front of me was the last person to get in before everyone was stopped as the ceremony was just starting. Nobody was allowed in and we all had to wait for 10 minutes standing there. I was standing in front of the security wand dude.
I didn't mind in the slightest and I did not hear one word of complaint from anyone despite there being hundreds, probably thousands, behind me waiting to get in. Small price to pay to be made to wait while the ceremony took place.

I was walking from Tigerland station to the 'G about half way through 2Q (had an assignment due). There were people going home already, in both Tiger and Demon gear. Some were families with young kids, so I can appreciate them wanting an early night but still wanted to attend the ceremony.

Does anybody know if the attendance is measured at the time of announcement, or whether it still counts every entry? What about those who 'pass out'?

Last nights crowd was bigger than last years Anzac Day crowd so could happen
given how much the drug cheats upped the price of a ticket, I wouldn't be surprised.

One barcode counts as one entry only regardless of how many times you leave and re-enter.

I was in mcc Melbourne supporters were swarming the place had to get out of there... After the first quarter walked around and sat near the richmond cheer squad the noise when the siren went WOWEE !

Anzac Day crowd was only 2k bigger.
This will probably be bigger in the next year or so.
I was at the ricmond v melbourne match and the collingwood v essendon match so i can make a fair comparison.
The night spectacle left the day spectacle for dead. Its now i appreciate what a huge match the anzac eve match is. The joint banner with the anzac logo and the light behind it set the stage for a great spectacle. The whole mcg lit up with the lights from the phones looked amazing and the guy riding the horse with the torch alight was magic. The day game was almost like just another game.
The atmosphere at the day game seemed less as there appeared to be a lot more corporates (just my view). It was also interesting to see the members packed out far earlier in the anzac eve match and in general the anzac eve match had a lot more club supporters (or so it appeared at ground level).
I believe the anzac eve match will eventually pass the highs set by the day match. If both melbourne and richmond are viable top 4 contenders in the same year this match will start breaking the 90k mark.
Ordinary weather for both matches but super attendances and something that all supporters should be proud of.

I went to both games as well. Not fair to say that the day game just seemed like another match. Was my first ANZAC Day game and it was pretty special but agree that the night game was more of a spectacle. Can see why Eddie was so against it. What a douche.

Agree with the corporate side of it. After half time, there seemed to be 10,000+ people in MCC that stayed in the bar till at least midway through the 3rd quarter which hurt the atmosphere. Didn't happen in our game. Definitely here to stay!
