I bloody hope so mate. There are strong rumours doing the rounds that he will quit Port in search of a club that will offer him more opportunities. With the likely return of Primus to the forward line next year, there will be even less opportunities for White.

I don't think we will do much trading BUT if we can get White and Thompson from this trade period I would be stoked.
Pretty sure White has made it official that he wants to be traded. Trigg mentioned that we wouldn't be trading too much, but rather be relying on developing our own youngsters. However, like you Stiffy, would be very happy if we gained Thompson & White, & lost Stinger (& hopefully a HBF).

just a question as i rate Triggy as CEO
but didnt bill sanders leave the crows for a while and then come back on the board ?
Sanders was CEO prior to Trigg, then went off & did an umpiring report for the AFL (doesn't appear to improved the standard!), then came back as our so called members rep on the board, before replacing Campbell as Chairman.

Cheers Stiffy.

So basically we need to find a ruck coach.
My mail is that Craig has something else in mind, not so much the original stereotype structure of a coach for forwards, midfielders, defence and ruck BUT more of giving assitants specific tasks within the structure. From what I can gather it will be something out of left field and not your traditional coaching set up

I think its reasonable that we won't do much of trading. I would be very happy if we got Thompson and White at the expense of Stinger and as you say one of the HBF. I would be stoked if these came off.

He hasn't made it official quite yet. There was something in the local Adelaide rag, rumouring something but nothing yet. Believe me we're keeping a close eye on that over on the other side ;)

Well I hope it is not a cycling coach...

4. Steven Trigg as CEO is and has copped some unfair criticisms for his roles in the coaching affair. As a CEO reporting to a board, it is not unusual to get rolled on your suggestions and you still have to face up to the media and staff and accept the outcome. This is a part of the role as much as any other task and he has been strong in a very difficult year for the club.

I agree! Triggy is an absolute champ of a bloke, and one of the best Appointments the AFC have made since inception...

Can't wait for 2005.

Here Here!

Michael Turtur hasnt been approached? Or do we go all out spend our money sell the farm and get M Barrass? Then we see stories of injecting rooms in the paper :D

I have visions of Stan Wickams ghost riding onto Glenelg Oval and then going down Military Rd to Footy Pk and showing the Crows what toughness was about.

No it won't be cycling coach. It will be a football person BUT what I am saying is that the structure of the coaching panel will not be your traditional structure where you have a different coaches who are resopnsible for Midfield, forwards, defenders and ruckmen. It will not be as "rigid" as that but more flexible where each member will have specific tasks to do and you might find out that all 3 assistants might look after all 4 areas. I hope I explained that properly.

Hear hear.

Triggy cops a lot of unwarranted flak but he works his guts out for the AFC and he cops the blame for everything regardless of whether or no he is responsible for it.

On a related topic...does the appointment of the new football development and recruiting staff mean the AFC internal review is over?

I havent heard much about the review, but I would love to read more about it.

Obviously we've pinpointed recruiting and player development as area's in need of work and brought in new people, but I'm wondering what else the review may have brought up.

The club has to move up the ladder, the new staff need to find their feet in the new structure and I'm curious to know what the club's plan is in more detail.

How are we planning to do it? Does the review recommendations match Craig's plans? Where does the AFC see itself at the minute?

Trigg's comments today that we have a strong list in need of development just blew me away. I don't dispute the development part but ...We finished 12th and we have a strong list??

I'm hoping we get to read more about this review in the near future.
