who's up for a pick the ladder 05'
basically we can pick our ladder in order of how we think it will end -
whoever wins gets bragging rights for the biggest fluke in history - unless the mods can give us a better prize
I reckon put in % as a tie breaker for the top 4 teams - who ever has the closest % (if you are over your lose) wins ?

I'll put my team up in a bit ! (not sure how I can keep the thread active for 8 months though

P.S not justification required (its a game)

Last year I did an analysis of journalists' top 8 predictions (plus me and a few mates, we all finished in the top 10 and G Cornes was almost stone motherless :) )

I'm set up to do it again (ie calculate accuracies etc) and I'm taking entries on the main board (See the thread about 2005 Time Capsule).

So I'll take the top 8 predictions (in order, please) and report back at the end of the year.

Maybe I could do the whole ladder, just an extension of what I've already set up.

1. St. Kilda
2. Port.
3. Brisbane
4. Geelong
5. West Coast
6. Kangaroos

1: St. Kilda (Runners Up)
2: Port Adelaide (Out in the prelims)
3: West Coast (Premiers)
4: Brisbane (On the decline)
5: Carlton (Will surprise everyone - best coach in AFL by a country mile)
6: Adelaide (Best possible finish - I'm an optimist)
7: Essendon (Consistency personified)
8: Geelong (Overrated and Ottens is a hack)

9: Melbourne (Odd year!)
10: Fremantle (With Chris Connoly Sacked)
11: Sydney (Overrated - if Hall gets injured will finish lower but Roos is a gun)
12: Collingwood (Overrated)
13: Kangaroos (Overachievers)
14: Western Bulldogs (Crap with some great youngsters - see you soon Griffen)
15: Richmond (Deledio will keep them off bottom)
16: Hawthorn (Picking KPP's with their first 2 picks will keep them bottom)

What's more I have Andrew Mcleod winning the Chas Brownlow from Juddly Goodness in the West by 1 vote... only time will tell!

1. Port Adelaide
2. Brisbane
3. St Kilda
4. Fremantle
5. Geelong
6. Melbourne
7. West Coast
8. North Melbourne-ish

The fight for the last 2 spots will involve a number of teams including Adelaide. At some stage they will even appear to be there.

Firstly welcome aboard.

I had the same top 4 as you and the same bottom 4 as you - and the same order.

It's this middle area highlighted in red, which is just so hard to predict because it will depend on so many factors other than natural talent, ie injury etc. Good luck and bad luck will see teams shuffle up and down this range. Time for the Crows to have more than their share of good luck for a change - hopefully.

I've got 1700 good reasons to hope you're right about Macca's Brownlow prospects!! :D

Hey guys, long time since I've been here but I've had no computer. I've been getting access to the net every couple of days, but if I can't read this board every day then I don't see a reason because it becomes too hard to keep up. :p
Anyway,

St.Kilda
Port
West Coast
Brisbane
Geelong
Melbourne
Freo
Sydney

Essendon
Carlton
Adelaide
Collingwood
Bulldogs
Richmond
Roos
Hawthorn

Won't be a couple of weeks till I get my new computer but couldn't help but join in on the game when I was checking in.

The winning entry....might as well close the thread Cap........ :p

1: Port Power.....135%
2: St Kilda........125%
3: Geelong.......115%
4: Brisbane.......115%
5: Sydney
6: Essendon
7: West Coast
8: Adelaide

9: Melbourne
10: Collingwood

That might be because I saw your ladder prediction and it was almost a replica to what mine looked like at the top and bottom with only the middle differing - sorry mate :o

Couldn't agree more which is why the clubs with greater off field resources will perform better on field (thus I'm assuming the crows will have a stellar year!)

I just want to say - I cannot believe that someone has been able to join this recently, and find the username "Crow" still available. Who'd a thunk it! Well done.
