Does that mean Laurence is not a "quality person with excellent character"?

What did you guys give up for Ryan Fitzgerald? I think he will attract some interest.
Can certainly play, but he's just such a big risk.

Nelson???

I was rather surprised that Nelson was retained, but now the only questions are who are we going to pick up, all the worrying and so on is over and now hopefully we can all celebrate agreat team going great places.
Cheers
Jason

P.S.
Roostergal how did you do those angry faces in red and so on on that McCartney forum and also how do you get an avatar such asa rohan whos cycles through.
Anyway Carn The Crows...
;) ;)

Fitzgerald is an average forward. He doesnt take enough marks. He has a poor kick and he doesnt kick enough goals. He has height tho. Even tho i named him as one of the possibles to be delisted i thought he'd be given another year.

I wouldnt expect another team to take a risk on an almost permanantly injured 26 year old forward who takes 3 marks a game and averages 1.2 goals a game.
He'll kick 50+ goals in theSANFL next year

Fitzgerald, Ryan Delisted
[/B]

I for one am going to miss him for more reasons than the footy one......poor Ryan and yes he was very loyal to the club......Crow Zone wont be the same!

Well he certainly didn't provide "unquestioned loyal service to the Adelaide Football Club", that's for sure.

No reason for him not to continue on hosting, Lyle plays for the Magpies and co-hosts the Port show, Robran doesn't play for the cows anymore. My suggestion is write to the club and plead his case. I'm pretty confident he can fit in the cow show and a few games for the Panthers next year.

BTW not suprised that he got axed, am suprised with Handby being cut and that Schell (& Nelson to a lesser extent) is left on it.

I'm quite pi$$sed off about Fitzy being delisted! I ask... why was Daniel Schell put on a 2 year contract? Fitzy is a much better player than that dud.

I am however quite happy to see Hewitt gone! Goodbye you complete hack! Good to see they kept the more talented Perrie ahead of Hewitt.

Ben Nelson should consider himself very, very lucky. Shir the opposite, dissapointing to see him dropped.

Probably because Schell was less of an injury risk and is younger and therefore the thought was he may develop further.

I'm sorry to see Fitzy go, but frankly Adelaide took a gamble there and it didn't pay.

I guess Schell is insurance in case our forwards have a bad injury trot. You know how these things work, no back up = guaranteed problems.

THe delistings were direct battles between players

Nelson vs Shirley as the back up taggers
Perrive vs Hewitt
Fitzty vs Schell (Schell was contracted)

Shir got delisted because we picked up Torney.

Bock and Rutten are now further back up tall options.

Handby did obvisuly not impress the selectors enough.

Our National draft picking has been ordinary.

Of the 31 players taken in the National Draft since 96 - only 9 are still on our list.

For example in 99 we drafted 6 people and only Biglands is left on the list.

Macca - last year you said somehting like "you could tell four or five years ago Fitzy was going to be a star player"

Make your mind up.

I think we will draft two new players, re-draft one of the delistings and keep a pick for the pre-season draft

If there is no-one worth taking, we will stay one short on the list for salary cap reasons.

Yup, i certainly did - when he was younger, and had never been injured!

Now hes been almost constantly injured since then.

You cant tell me you are happy with a player that played as your no.1 key forward who kicked less than a goal a game and only averaged 3 marks a game?

He was very dissapointing. Didnt live up to his potential.

I will, except he would propably go run home to mummy, and dob me in.

A gutless, heartless hack

Worst player weve have ever had on our list, atleast David Gallagher gave it his all, even if he was $hit.

He would probably take you apart.
For gods sake its only a game. Just because football wasnt for him dont continue to blame him. There is no point having someone stay for the sake of it. Your heart has to be in it all the way. If it isnt then you are better off having someone else. He cant havebeen too heartless,Speaking of David Gallagher, at least Angwin had a passion for his sanfl club.

Why do you all hate Angwin so much? Wasn't he your first pick in the 2000 draft?
Yes he was, and that is exactly why.

He has a load of potential but half way through this season he decided he wanted to go back to Vic after giving us NO service. You see we don't often get top 10 picks and when we did, we wasted it on a homesick Victorian.

Also, apparently has other troubles.
