Went to the game today and whilst obviously disappointed with the result, was also disappointed with the performance of some of the Crows players (those in Eagles uniforms). Doughty showed in the second half some good form mind you his first half was pretty ordinary and Torney played a good game as well. Skipworth, Shirley and Bock - the less said the better.

Eagles only managed 1 goal in the 2nd half. Thats disgraceful. Doughty will travel with the Crows as an emergency as well.

From the Westies-Norwood game, Jericho was pick of the bunch and BOG. Kicked 6 goals and dragged Westies over the line. Hazell was rock solid for Reglegs and is just a workhorse who is not great at anything but very good at everything. Dabrowski was CRAP.

Jerome how did the likes of Bode and Andrews go today??????

Salim Hassan was good for westies.

Champion was OK without being spectacular for Westies. He took a couple of impressive marks. Started forward and was moved back on Neill and di a good job on him.

Patfull worked hard all day and did a couple of good things but overall he was kept under control by Chubb.

From westies game Hassan was the best port listed player.

Ben Rutten played the first half in Westies reserves and was very good. Pulled up fit and well. Trucker will play league next week, I'd expect.

Now that very good news. He would make a hell of a lot difference to the Bloods. As good as Jericho was today they really need a big strong forward. Play Rutten at FF and he'll kick you a bag each week.

Having said that Rehny will probably play him at CHB or CHF.

Good to hear Rutten and Jericho went alright.

It does not surprise met to hear that Skipworth, Shirley and Bock went missing.

As for Bays V Dogs..

Reserves - Rowan Andrews. for Glenelg.

RA was well beaten by Jason "Buckets" McKenzie in the first quarter. Buckets strength and experience really showed and he beat RA at ruck contests and around the ground to give the Dogs a 4 goal lead at quarter time (7 to 3). Andrews really needs more muscle, Buckets pushed off him too easily but in Andrews defence he's not even 19 and has time to work on his frame.

Glenelg got back in it in the second and third quarters with Andrews winning some taps and getting a few more kicks. He takes a good mark and is a good long kick. He looked alright but the Dogs ran away with it in the last.

I think Andrews will play seniors next week as Golding is too slow and Michael Griffiths ran in straight at a Centrals player in the 2nd quarter, elbow first...Griffo's gone.

Seniors - Matt Bode

Won the Bays best player award today and did some nice things up forward but ...Glenelg were **** house all day and Bode was soft! For a bloke with his experience you'd think he'd go in a bit harder but nah! Over rated and would not get a gig with Centrals.

I was at the game too - agree re Crows players - the Eagles trio were pretty average, probably Bock did most and Doughty was in and out, Torney was ok. The Power players did better Lade had a big 2nd half and Hall was very good and Ellis seemd the only Eagles player in the forwards willing to make a contest.

The Eagles went to sleep - they listened to the fat lady at half time and not the coach!!

And what about those awful Eagles uniforms! - too much gold - looked like Gaza.

Chris Hall - did some serviceable things in second half. reasonable performance
Lade - took some big marks in the second half. Didn't do much rucking but then again put up forward and see what damage he can do. it was enough.

In the second half I thought they were Gaza. Absolute shockers, at least you could not possibly say you mistook your player for the other team.

Hall is one of the ones that hopefully will get a chance and take it at Port.
Lade is one level better than SANFL. Good to see it showed.

Torney was fairly solid in the second half. Didn't see much of him up to half time - but saying that, didn't see much of any of them to half time.

Doughty was shocking in the first half... turned it round in the second half though and was probably close to our second best behind Bennett.

Macca, Rutten played CHB and was, as you'd expect, a class above Reserves standard. Adelaide only wanted him to play a half, I think, so he came off at half-time.

Stiffy, wherever Rehnny plays him is where he should play. He's a great coach and I hear that the Westies boys would do anything for him. See how they play for proof.

Skipworth was truly lamentable for the Eagles in a very very soft display.

Shirley was really good in the first half but like all his team mates completely faded out.

Didn't think Bock was too bad.

Torney and Doughty both played very good second halfs in a game of two halves

Didn't mind the uniform myself, quite distinctive.

Gather JT must be a reasonable chance of getting a recall this WE.
