Captain Simon Goodwin has chosen - and spoken to - the new-age Crow to carry his No. 36 jumper. He is keeping it secret until it is ratified by the club which says it will wait until the pre-season to assign guernseys at West Lakes.

Andrew McLeod has had indigenous team-mate Jared Petrenko ask for his No. 23.

Brett Burton wants destiny to decide who gets his No. 24.

Tyson Edwards, who retired mid-season, already has nominated young midfielder Rory Sloane to inherit his No. 9.

Great to see the numbers of our champions being passed on to the young stars.

Matthew Jaensch for #36!!! Just seems right, maybe Goody being the leader sort of steered him in the right direction after his slight hiccup. Wears 35 for Sturt, so might want to keep it close. 36 for MJ. :thumbsu:

One of Petrenko's shortcomings is self belief. If he walks a little taller wearing # 23 I say go for it.
Well said, this is exactly what I thought of when I read that.

There's about 1000 teenage girls with 17 on their gurnsey who hope you're wrong!

I was thinking this too :o There's going to be a few pissed off parents having to put the #17 guernsey on top of the #28 guernsey at the bottom of the drawer if Vince changes to his third number :D

I would be surprised if Bernie changed his number although he is pretty close with Goody... we'll just have to wait and see!

I would rather make my number famous than inherit a famous number if i was playing for the crows i reckon (and im still hopeful of one day being drafted by the crows;)).

I reckon Hendo for 24, offers a similar X factor that Burton did

Not sure about Petrenks with 23 considering he could be of our list in a couple of years

Bernie has already changed his number, no way he goes to 36. He's his own player and a B&F winner in his own right he doesn't need to be changing to a higher (admittedly a Star's) number.

Players try to get lower numbers, not higher. Robran going from 5 to 10 (for obvious reasons) and Danger needing to vacate 19 are the only real instances of player going higher I can recall at our club.

I'm relatively happy to see #24 just go to some draftee tbh. 36 is not a great # either and well the entire world wants 23 since Jordan and McLeod made it his own so it will be a popular choice I imagine. I'd rather that sat quietly out than just handing it out for the sake of it.

Here is a bit of inside goss apparently all our retiring champions have courted Jarrhan Jacky about him taking over their numbers next year. I guess we wont know who will be wearing what jumper next season until Jacky makes a decision onf which legends number he will wear next year. Also heard that Jacky's number 10 jumper will be retired after he changes numbers and will hung in the Crows museam :p

Bit of left-field but I reckon Goody might have handed the 36 onto Phil Davis. I can see Philthy as a player who would do that jumper proud.

I don't think the kid needs any more pressure than he already has, but despite #13 being a Premiership number i'd like to see him change it.
