Sometimes it's good to have a win like this, you forced to grind it out and win ugly and you don't get to satisfied with the win

This. Can't always play it our way and get plenty of room to run and carry. We need to be able to win under a range of different circumstances. Freo were wasteful in front of goal but their intensity and stoppage work was as good as it's been all year. Solid, workman-like performance to stitch up the 4 points.

Not a great game but that was Lyons tactics. Think to many here thought it'd be a walkover but Freo aren't quite as bad as a 0-6 start would suggest

Not that finals are even a concern based on today's form. That was horrible.

As I said earlier, makes up for the injustice of not getting the points last week. Come away from a bad, bad game with a win, and you never have to worry about it again. That's the sort of thing that gets you into the top 4, not out of it.

I'm thinking we are all expecting a bit more now. The first 5 weeks have been impressive. Our skills were not good today by a long shot. We were way better last week against a far better team than today.

Err, what agenda? No need to get personal either with pot shots such as "fool". I'm merely stating my opinion. I like Cheney and 90% of what he does but the past two weeks he has shown a lack of desperation at certain stages. It was clear as day that Mayne was going to soccer that through in the square. He should have dived across to at least try and get it. Last week vs. Puopolo he should have jumped forward too but tried a very soft bump on him instead which he brushed off.

So, twice you say he should've dived? Both times I disagree. Along with a bunch of other Cheney bashers here, you need whipping boys. MacKay will do! No way could he dived last week. And Mayne was meters from him today.
Look at where Seeds is when Mayne soccers! In the contest Cheney is boundary side, unlucky it goes towards the goal square. Seed right there when he soccers.
