Game Day Crows vs. GWS

Thommo would be virtually no hope of playing against the Hawks. You don't risk hamstrings. There's clearly a strain there. Matt Crouch in is the silver lining.

I'm far from convinced Dangerfield (medial strain) or Rutten (concussion) will be able to suit up either on a 6 day break. You'd suggest Grigg (or Lyons) and LT (or Hartigan) would be the likely replacements there.

Talia looked like he was on one leg towards the end too. I'm confident that will be nothing though.
Danger looked fine and played out the game well. He even said afterwards it was just something slight, it won't stop Danger.

Hendo did overcook 2-3 kicks, and Walker's lack of competing made another 1-2 look bad but the key with Hendo was he not once made a bad decision.

Just wait till he gets his kicking range back!
I really liked watching hendo and smith in the same backline, along with brown, that's 3 speedy defenders and Talia is no slouch either.

Just driven home after being at the game today.

A few posters on here today have been unrealistic in expectations.
  • We we're hit with some injuries early, and some of the boys just limped to the line. Talia played forward at the end because he was carrying an injury
  • The umps were ridiculous in the number of times they stopped our momentum with calls out of their backside
  • GWS have some serious pace in their side. The boys actually did well to hold them up most times
An 11 goal win, on a 6 day break, on the road - a damn good effort

Went to the game today. Family day paid off for the Giants, it felt like there were more children under 5 there than adults, but it was a good atmosphere as it usually is at the Showgrounds.

Few things stood out - our centre clearance work was a disgrace, just no structure, hit and hope stuff. Also, our lack of forward line structure was even more apparent and shocking to me seeing it for the first time in the flesh this year. All our forwards lead to the same spot and get in each others way, or stand still waving their arms. Podsiadly is pretty much the only forward who has any understanding of where he needs to lead to in order to receive the ball.

Jenkins does a lot of work, but mostly running to the wrong spots, or not trusting his teammates to honour his lead, or not leading 100% the whole way. If we had someone who could teach him to channel his energy into running 100% to the right spots, we'd have a scary player on our hands, but now as it stands he's wasting 30-40% of his effort every game just leading away from the ball carrier or standing on the spot waving his arms like he wants it on his head.

Thompson was stellar, he has at least another year in him on this pace, whilst Smith would have to be the most improved player in the AFL this year. Janesch though I am still struggling to come to terms with as a defender, because whilst he may have a good kick he is a turnstile defensively, and his recent attempts at smothering have been embarrassing. The goal that Bugg kicked in the second term highlighted his defensive ineptitude, and Bugg let him know about it afterwards as well. Not a good look.

Walker, well, I'm at a loss to explain what went wrong for him today, he never looked like taking a mark and I'm pretty sure that Mohr took more marks than he did. Henderson was tidy in his comeback.

not sure if anyone watched that rubbish channel 7 wrap up program hosted by bazil zempalis after port v essendon? apparently the only highlight worth showing from adelaide v gws was jpod getting hit in the balls, while 'take my breath away' played over it.

what is it with bazil and crows players' junk? first a replay of ricky henderson in the change rooms with his nuts out and now this. he's not normal.

If you lived in Perth, you'd have known Basil is not normal a long while ago

Basil Zempalis is the human equivalent of a kick in the balls.

i reckon walker may have injured his arm against the bombers, they were all over his don't argue...
one in particular looked like it may have stung slightly dislocating the elbow...
haven't seen the game against GWS but did he dish out any don't argue's?

He did v Port very early and gave away a free for the resultant high contact
