He must be somewhat out of favour to be dropped considering he is in their top tier of players - his form hasnt been that bad.

He has been played out of position a few times in the last few weeks - his position should be in the middle - he is a ball magnet with great skills.

This begs the question - Do you think Collingwood will/should look into trading for him at seasons end?

I personally would love Dal Santo at the pies and would give up a 1st round pick for him. What would be needed to get him to pies?

If i recall correctly didnt we try and lure him over a few years back?

Must i repeat Must chase hard for this bloke he isnt going to cost us as much as Kerr and is a very good ball user and could really become even better under a Malthouse.

Imagine also getting Cousins in the PSD.

with our young list getting better each year would put us straight up into Premeirship contender.

Cousins, Dalsanto, Pendlebury, Swan, Burns, McCarthy, Wellingham, Didak, Thomas,

DOES NOT TACKLE.

DOES NOT EVEN REALISE HE HAS A MAN

IS THE EPITOME OF A DOWN HILL SKIER

i think thats all i have on that

I'll add to that, doesn't win his own ball or contest with any convication unless he is grilled in the media for this in which case he will be passable. We need more players who can and are willing to win the ball, not less players winning the ball and more waiting around outside.

He will cost much more then he is worth too us. He would however be awesome for a team like sydney.

Rubbish

Tackles well and i have seen him play great games when the team is down he could really be a awesome pick up

He is one of my favourite players outside of Collingwood players so when I watch St. Kilda games I pay extra attention to how he is going. I think that he gets a really harsh deal about being soft and a downhill player. No he is not a tough as nails, in and under machine like Mitchell or Ball but he is certianly not in soft territory.

All it takes is for one media report to label him soft and then all the heroes on here who cannot see that any player outside their team is any good automatically bag him as being soft and on it goes. It is the same with people on here who call Pendlebury and Thomas soft, they have no idea and players reputation cops it.

I would love Dal Santo at Collingwood, him and Pendles in the same team would be amazing. Yes they arent in and under players but if we can also get more Burns like players in the guts we will tear them apart

his tackle average per year has decreased since his secodn year, bar one little blip

02 1.8
03 4.5
04 3.3
05 3.2
06 4.2
07 3.7
08 2.9

contested possesions arnt much better
disposals Cp
02 10.6 - 4.6
03 19 - 7.2
04 18.8 - 6.7
05 22.6 - 8.9
06 22.1 - 8.1
07 21.5 - 8.1
08 22.0 - 6.6

He doesnt get the ball often enough, he barley gets his own contested ball a third of the time, he isnt what we need.

We have pendlebury and wellingham that do the outside well and can play inside as with dale thomas.

He is expensive and surplus to needs

a couple of years back i wanted him badly. now pendlebury has come along who is a similar player, younger and still developing. both players are similar but i think pendlebury will come out better. then there is the cost of dal santo, which i think will be quite high and he wont come for nothing.

what do you think we would need to trade to get him?

very least first rounder, quite possible they would expect a player as well

The only reason i would be interested is i would like to see what MM does to him. Could he make Dal a more accountable player like Medhurst?
But then again we can't afford to lose another first round pick unless it is for a hard in & under (Kerr).

I'd say we should offer our first rounder to the Saints for him, when usually I am against giving first rounders away. This of course should be measured against what we think we could get in the draft.

He is young, we will get 8 or so years of service out of him, he adds class to a midfield that really needs an injection of a bit more. He is a perfect fit for us, he is one of the 3 new midfielders we need to get into our team. The other 2 need to be of brock mclean/scott burns mould.

But definitely offer a first rounder for him, not sure if the Saints would accept it, highly doubt they would, especially if we make finals and it is not a top 10 pick.

If we get him he would cop the No.1 tag. Thats a good thing, it will relieve pressure of Swan and Pendlebury thus making them more dangerous players.

If there's one thing Carlton have taught us it's never give away first round draft picks!!

I think we're a couple of years too late. He's allready 24, would be 25 when he started playing with us next year. Assuming Brown, Reid, Dawes etc reach their prime in about 3-4 years he would be approx 27-29 and hopefully pushed out of the team by the likes of Clarke, Pendlebury, Thomas, Stanley and Wellingham. Also, if this draft is supposed to be a super-draft I would prefer we recruit a good-skilled hardnosed inside mid with our first pick. Not worth it IMO.

Ben Cousins on the other hand:D

He might not get the number 1 tag

A guy called Ben Cousins might

OHHH YEAH

Ben Cousins on the other hand... is 30 in ten days, correct? But I would agree with him coming into the Collingwood side, provided we didn't 'waste' too much time with him in the VFL side etc.

Personally, i dont think you need him as you already have a better version of him already in Pendlebury. Far more consistant and hungry.

Would cost way too much, especially that this is the last open draft

Something like that. Yeah, I didn't mean we actually give up something for Cousins obviously. Cousins is a level above Dal Santo as well.

Can i ask why???

I think Juddy is doing fine thanks....

Do you want to watch the replay of the last quarter last week to see what a 1st round draft pick got us???

Thats just a silly comment

Hang on a second, wasn't everyone on this board crying black and blue that "to be a genuine premiership contender, WE NEED an INSIDE MID, not another outside coaster?"?

We might as well go after Yze then??
