Tell me again what Collingwood have achieved in this millenium? How many more premierships than Carlton have they won? What is embarrassing is that it doesn't matter which star player comes on the market, whether it be Lockett, Judd or maybe even Brown, none of them want to play for Collingwood (of course you did get Woewodin). Other embarrassing moments: Rhys Shaw absolutely shitting himself when Alistair Lynch runs at him in a GF. Leon Davis getting no possessions in a GF (much like Derek Shaw in the 1979 GF). Paul Licuria crying on Mick Malthouse's shoulder after yet another GF loss.

But what is most embarrassing of all? Losing to a team that had lost 14 games in a row & conceded 100+ points, 24 times in a row. Once again, Collingwood coming up against a Carlton team, with their backs well & truly against the wall, came up short. Some things change, yet some things always stay the same.

No premierships but have acheived a hell of alot more than Carlton. If it wasnt for Dick Pratt your club may not have been around today.

Lol. Lockett? We didnt want him (big mistake), Judd? Couldnt 'look after' West Coast in terms of adequate compensation, as for J. Brown we shall wait and see.

If any club should be embarrassed it certainly aint Collingwood champ.

If you could go back in time with what we know now the draft would look like this:

1: Pendlebury
2: Thomas
3: Murphy
4: Birchall
5: Jones

Hey Fool, Can you remember that at draft time that year Brisbane were feral that Murphy declined the father/son opportunity after offering him a 5 year deal, they have been pretty good judges of young talent over recent years.

Also be aware that Murphy has applied his efforts in a team which has really struggled like you guys did in the mid to late 90's and Pendlebury and Thomas have skirted the packs and hard contests around some pretty good established inside players.

Give me a guy like Murphy who has a great motor and will put himself in the clinches everyday before your "boundary umpires" and even Brisbane could see that early on.

Judge or compare them as individuals in this case and not the roles they currently play within a more successful team, Could Thomas and Pendlebury played the standard in Carltons side and we all know that anyone can run around the boundary or across half back with the ball in space when Burns, Obree, Lockyer, Licuria and co have gone in and got it for them.

You should also be glad Murphy never ended up at the Pies because he would of spelt the end for Buckley much sooner!

You have Thomas, but you don't have Judd because you wouldn't trade him, Reid and your first pick to WCE.

Thomas has gone backwards this year and was beaten by Gibbs because he can't win his own ball when sat on. Thomas only ever kicks goals when he receives the ball from his teammates or junk goals at the end of the game when the pressure is off.

He's a taller version of Davis.

He'll never bulk up enough to have as much as impact on games as players like Murphy and Gibbs.

He was top age like Murphy, but still looks like a 17 year old and first year recruit.

IMO you should have traded Reid and Wood (pick 14), but not Brown that guy is going to be an animal. How do the pies always manage to find quality backmen???
