I wonder why neither GC nor Port preferred to deal with North. Their first pick next year should be a good one.

LOL, why is this draft the deepest and best in decades ? You’re getting caught up in the hype. I haven’t heard of a Nick Daicos or Harley Reid type this year.OK, so look at Carlton ( I know you love to);
Across 23/24/25 - we had/have the opportunity to bring in 6 father sun/academy players & 4 first round draft pics (as it stands now, trying to trade up our first rounder this year).
This year is the strongest/deepest draft in decades.
Our strategy is to invest in this draft - next year, another year you have no first draft pick, there’s a HUGE group of free agents available.
Collingwood won’t feature in the draft or have the assets to bring another free agent next year.
Several of your most important players will retire & then what?
Tassie start eating all the early draft pics across 3 years!
Houston is a great player - but will he win you the premiership next year?
If he doesn’t - is this sugar hit worth it?
Not 1 of them would be in our best 22Ashton Moir

This is simply not true. I get you are backing your club to get it right, but spare us the hyperbole. This year is the strongest/deepest draft in decades.
That better be one hell of a late-round pick.View attachment 2141165Let’s Just Wait and See …… Port hasn’t agreed to this yet !!
You’re reaching!Let’s compare to Carlton:
Haynes in - probably all the bursting cap could afford. Attempts to offload Kennedy and Young to secure better players like Houston were unsuccessful.
Peaking list and cap that hasn’t gotten close to a premiership
One high-ish draft picks in 3 years (Ollie Holands, and he’s no Nick Daicos). Since taking Walsh at pick 1 in 2018, the Blues drafting has been as ordinary as ours.
Also no incumbent youth coming through, unless the likes of Lord and Binns count for you but Allan and Harrison don’t for us.
The deepest and strongest draft in decades? You obviously aren’t a draft nut and just enjoy Cal Twomey articles. The depth in this draft is commendable but not unrivalled, the top end is not special.
Just focus on getting your club getting the picks right so you can have a serious tilt at the premiership at some stage.

I guess we will wait and see.
We’ve lost Noble, Richards and lost a F1
We’ve gained Houston & Perryman and have a gun F/S next year.
I think we are in front.
Find me somebody of note who says otherwise? This is simply not true. I get you are backing your club to get it right, but spare us the hyperbole.
For next year - yes.LOL, why is this draft the deepest and best in decades ? You’re getting caught up in the hype. I haven’t heard of a Nick Daicos or Harley Reid type this year.

lol sureNot 1 of them would be in our best 22
Good luck with #3 lolWhat excuse my odd-dog-friend?
Carlton could have brought him in but we’re going after pick 3, Sid Draper et al.
That’s what I’ve read - show me otherwise bud.In decades you say?
Really?![]()
You clearly don’t watch our games - no great lossI’m still looking for the gun. I can’t see one no matter how hard I look.
I could just as easily put up a similar list of Collingwood unproven youngsters.
And to be honest I wouldn’t trade any of those players listed for Ed Allan.
Carlton want to trade up to 3.Why arent Port making a deal with Carlton and ignoring all the other ridiculous trades ?
This is baffling.
Ok then who is the gun out of those guys you listed? You clearly don’t watch our games - no great loss.
Last chance.Canceled my membership, must had seen my $500 gone and reconsidered
can you work for port pleaseLast chance.
Do it right.
Houston for North's F1
Luko for a future second rounder
Richards for a third
Bugger Atkins off
Lauchie Cowan played nearly every game this year.Ok then who is the gun out of those guys you listed?
Come on - be honest, you’ve got one decent player under 22.
The rest are numpties.
Look at that list of retirees - who’s going to replace them?
Houston is a great get - but it’s an all in plan - even your coach said so.
So was the heavy investment in Schultz!
One father-son won’t hold the dam from breaking.
BTW - the deal ain’t done yet - on a knife edge still according to Cal.
You’d better hope Port don’t wake up & realise they’ve been fleeced!
He’s been a nice pickupWhat if the father son is Nick Frickin Daicos?
