On the docks...

"Oh whoa hold up! Where the f**k is Dangerfield???!!"
"Yeah uhhh... he's sick."
"Screw you Rowie, I paid top dollar for this...."
"Wait wait - here's Harley Bennell!"
"Lucky..."

Awesome fishing trip time. Many snappers.
Many [fishing] lines to be thrown by all.

Wait, that's a bit on the nose, isn't it?

Lol, which was in response to a post from you that mentioned Eagles losing Judd, Geelong losing Ablett Jnr, Hawks losing Franklin, meh, life goes on etc.. etc.... So what exactly is your point? Because mine is that we aren't even close to being as good as those sides were. The fact that our current side has zero premierships under its belt, unlike the other 3 you mentioned, supports that. One of these things is not like the other.

Nothing other than what I said
Life goes on
Good players have left other clubs too
We should not be taking this personally

Danger guarantees no one a flag

If we can't get player replacements and a ready to go coach - we are in a rebuild.

I don't think it's really hit yet the impact of having to get a new coach. Add this into the mix and we're in full rebuild mode if we can't nail replacement players AND a great coaching option.
I've said before, these are exciting times. We're the masters of our own destiny and have a great opportunity to plot a solid course to our next flag. A Dangerfield war chest for incomings, and the pick of the best available modern coaches. Cue the Star Trek music now!

Sometimes in life there comes a time when you do things out of principle even if it disadvantages you to a point. For AFC, this is that time. We should match even if it means that he ends up going to the draft and we get nothing for him.

At some point, you need to make a stance. This is that time. People laughed at Port Adelaide when they flat out refused to trade Nick Stevens to Collingwood but guess what, that moment right there set the tone for years to come. You no longer see players threatening Port Adelaide, at best they stay or at worst, they politely request a trade.

This is one of those times when we should be brave enough to step up to the plate and match regardless of what the final outcome is. If it means we forego pick 14 or whatever the compensation pick would be, and lose him to the draft for nothing, then so be it. Next time this sort of situation arises again, the player in question will think twice.

Danger going to Geelong does not mean our team will rot, nor does it mean Geelong will suddenly go back to their form from 07-11. Walker and Sloane will lead the way and with plenty of exciting youth beginning to blossom, there are bright days to come. Fear not Crows fans, for we are on the up whilst Danger jumps to a ship that is sinking fast.

Sorry you had to go Danger and thank you for the memories, but similar to Hawthorn after Buddy left them , we'll be fine without you.

Full Lindy! I have heard of this, but I'm just too scared to experience the Full Lindy

No, it doesn't. It certainly damages the chances of winning one in the near future though. Unless we manage to pull a rabbit out the hat and end up with say Redden and Bennell, and get B Crouch fit and firing, this sets us back massively.

I was fine with how he acted right up till he did that joke with Rowe about announcing he had signed... a contract for a boat. Hahahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahah. Yeah. F*ck off.
It's just a job for him. For some of us, it's a huge part of life.
