Just one thing in all this, the rules are the rules, he is a restricted free agent which means if we match Geelong have to trade. I don't care what Costa says now. Geelong nor Hawthorn could match offers put to Ablett or Franklin thus it is why they were allowed to go, it was not because they were acting within the spirit of free agency. We have lost Tippett, Gunston, Bock, Davis and now Danger in last five years, all essentially A graders. No way will we get shafted this time. Interstate sides should be looked after more by AFL as with 10 sides in Vic its too easy to be raided by weight of numbers given the majority of players come from Vic

I bet it's hard for him to admit after thinking about Danger for free all year.

I think there is a lot of public posturing (Scott and Costa's tears, Fagan's we are open to all clubs' offers), but behind the scenes both clubs admin staff are going along as usual and will work out a reasonable trade.

Begrudging as we don't want to lose him and it is still not value for him. As someone else mentioned, would you trade two first-rounders and someone like Knight if Fyfe wanted to come to us? Yes, every club would.

I know of one (and heard of a second) club very happy to pay Danger over $1.1m per year and trade well with Adelaide for him.
