The funniest thing about Cats players potentially taking pay cuts so they can get Danger is that they think they're actually a chance to win a premiership in the time Danger is there!

hahahahahahahahaha.
The famous Sydney "culcha" all went to shit after the Bondi billionaires made the others accept unders. Geelong may well suffer the same fate.

I just don't buy it...it would go against everything they stand for and Scott has said several times this year they would not do it
However it would at least make sense if they were to do this...has really been annoying me they want to low ball his salary and give nothing up for trade.

If we are dealing with Geelong, I would expect the trade to be pretty amicable.

Last year both clubs came up with the first round swap trade that helped both clubs out. For some reason we must have really wanted Wigg. There seems to be a good working relationship between both clubs.

The huff and puff by supporters on both boards here would be a contrast to the professional manner both club's recruiting/negotiating people will be going through.

We wont be dealing with Essendon.
The player we hoped we could get with that pick was Brayden Maynard , unfortunately Collingwood rated him too taking him at pick 30, Harrison Wigg was our fall back position apparently.

LOL...I remember Tippet saying he was watching the 2012 GF and Bruce Mcavaney was saying how good Swans culture was. Made it sound like it helped his decision to move there...what a spud

Is your position that we won't match because we lack the gumption and will roll over for the compo pick

Or

Is it your position we won't match because you'll pay us not to?
Don't engage in serious conversation with this scum Sanders
They will just run back to their board and try to ridicule you (although not many Cats fans seem to join in with Mahlepi's childish behaviour)

Lied is not harsh, it's exactly what he did. He even admitted to it in an interview with Rowey.
Rowey said he had been deceitful to which PD said yes he was.
What was he going to say?

Imagine if he announced he was leaving just when we were trying to mount a finals campaign. Impossible situation.

I thought your mods allowed for opposition supporters to be here if we are respectful

You completely neglected to answer the accusation against you.

It you are indeed bagging us on the Bay no matter how nice you post here doesn't make you respectful , it makes you a caniving deceitful condescending shit.

I dont do the bay.

But if he's hanging crap on you there.
Mocking you here
Hanging crap on you on our board.

Do one thing. Get your mods to talk to ours and chief. That's bs if he is doing that.
But he'll be back under a new account. again....

Ah yes, I remember the talk we wanted Maynard.

I wonder if Randell knew we had interest in him? He would have been on the radar at a young age, possibly 14/15 when Rendall was with us.

Well I have heard on the grapevine GWS have already told Dangerfields management they will pick him up in the PSD draft. The list of clubs that will run a snatch and grab campaign on Dangerfield if he enters the draft is growing all the time. Geelong best be coming to the party I think!
I like your grapevine
I do love 'The Grapes of Wrath'.

Those clubs would be sill not to. The trade currency alone at the end of 2016, in a strong draft year is worth it even with his threat of a one year contract.

I've known Dangerfield was leaving for a while now, you can check my posts from the past to confirm this (if that's something that takes your fancy) and the five stages of grief we are going through is very slow.

So a lot of us were in denial that he'd leave, stage 1, until the club came out and confirmed the rumors last Wednesday publicly and then we all got angry, stage 2, then as the days ticked over, more of us moved on to step 3, bargaining, or more accurately, defining a deal that we could get in return. Some have moved into the depression stage and some have moved into the acceptance stage, but we are spread out quite a bit, there's still people stuck in the anger stage, don't get these people mixed up with those in the depression stage, although, I know it can be hard to define between the two in this instance.

Which stage of grief are you at with Dangerfield? I'm only asking this for a bit of fun, the five stages of grief are only accurate for those with terminal conditions, so we aren't really going through these five stages.

I am over the 5 stages of grief stuff. What stage is that!

I also hear they were quite keen on Daniel Howe if Maynard wasn't available, but Hawthorn snapped him up at pick 31 directly behind the Pies. I believe the plan was to get Lever and Maynard, but if they got Lever and Howe, that was still very much a big win. Neither turned out, but we got Wigg who probably wouldn't have been around at pick 47 so it was still a small win.

If I was going to get technical I would say it's the stage where other things occupy your mind unless someone or something else brings it to your attention.

If we're going to be funny, then you have re-established your love that you had for Danger before the decision was announced and would be willing to ask him to sign a Geelong Guernsey.

It's just more Victorian media propaganda hoping the cats get Dangerfield cheaply now they know we intend to match.

Ken Wood is not going to allow a side deal where we say get pick #9 for effectively nothing. Eg for mackay. It would be rejected & then we would be stuffed.

Further we would be in more trouble with the Afl after our tippett-gate dramas, which is nor worth it.

Finally we are better off weakening the cats with 2 x 1st rounders than just 1. It will make it difficult to rebuild to replace their many 30+ old stars.

I'm not saying it is likely - but there is NOTHING wrong with us proposing any kind of trade to the AFL. If they don't think it is commercially equitable, they veto it.

It's not draft tampering (it's a trade, ffs), it's not something we can be punished for. Otherwise Port would have been punished last year for proposing a trade where Ryder is reclassified as a FA. It's just a proposal the AFL approves or knocks back.
