There's absolutely no scenario where Geelong will do a trade that sees them ending up with less draft picks. Lesser quality picks perhaps. Nine list spots to fill, their priority will be getting lots of picks around 30-50 rather than spending two picks (or a player and a pick) to move up the order.

at the rate you are going it will be pics 86, 87, 88, 89, 90 in a really weak draft. you would have also traded away two years of at least your first two rounds.

I think many will be surprised by the way Adelaide plays next season without Danger. The team looks to him too much, and his disposal is pretty average. Look at Hawthorn and their disposal efficiency compared to ours. We need to recruit players with decent disposal, losing a "one man army" wont hurt us as much as many seem to think

Replace "football in the groin" add "Football in back of DMac head, kicked by Danger"

This can sum up Danger's disposal at times

Sure is. And most overlook his flaws because of how amazing some of his highlights are. Not in the slightest annoyed about Danger leaving.

Reading between the lines with what murmurs that have been coming out, I reckon we will be getting:

- Pick 9
- 2016 2nd Rounder
- a player

The Australian are suggesting we are giving up our 2016 2nd Rounder for Hampton so I'm thinking we will want to replace that. Pick 9 gives us a top 10 pick and at the same time ensures Geelong have to cough something decent up rather than getting Padraig for free. The player is probably the sticking point at the moment for 2 reasons. 1/ agreeing on a player that Geelong are prepared to give up 2/ getting the player to agree to move
As long as the player in Cockatoo

The other side of your last sentence is that it might involve a guy like GHS, who we presently don't need, going to a Melbourne club who needs a bit of inside depth. This would also cause a delay. Geelong won't be forcing anyone out, but what they do have up their sleeve is cap space, so they shouldn't have any trouble getting a player to another club for 2 years with them paying his current contract and the other club kicking in $100k more. It's win for Geelong getting the pick and win for the other club getting a heavy discount on a 15-24 type player. The primary issue is that Geelong are no longer world beaters, so their depth isn't in high demand, so not sure what picks they'd get back for a player willing to move to the city. But I see this as a realistic happening.

I still can't believe they're going to give a first rounder for Henderson.

I can understand that easily enough. Cracking the shits and manufacturing reasons why they shouldn't have to cough up that and a bit more for Patrick Dangerfield is what astounds me. Do you remember the old, "well, we'll just give Carlton 9 for Hendo, spend our 2nd rounder on somewhere else, our first next will go as well, so you'll get nothing but the AFL compo pick". Eff me, yeh, let's go and swap all our $50 notes for $5 notes so that when the bloke we owe a couple of hundred dollars to comes calling, we can say we've only got $25 left. #Geelogic.

'Oh sorry, you thought we were serious when we said we'd do that deal? Haha oh... Well sorry you're stuck with pick 14!'

Or worse, the AFL coming in and saying, we've assessed the deal, it's clearly slanted in order to bring the compo in and we've knocked it back in it's entirety. So we'll just be taking the compo pick back from you now.

I always blamed DMac for that incident. There needs to be a use of the brain, he's running past a player who is getting ready to dispose of the ball and there is always a chance the player with the free kick/mark might dispose the ball to the left or the right instead of straight ahead. If Danger had been thinking about the possibility of a teammate running into an area where he might be disposing of the ball, then he's really not thinking right because he should be 100% focused on the disposal and execution, not if some numpty teammate decides to stroll past him only about a meter away.

I proportion the blame to both players

Not sure if it was mentioned yesterday but Brett Anderson (AFL journalist and AFLDraft analyst forInsideFooty & SENfooty according to his Twitter bio) said on SEN yesterday that his 'mail' is Danger to Geelong in return for Pick 9, 2016 second rounder and a player. As for the player he says we 'inquired' about Cockatoo but it's likely to be one of the SA boys (Gore, Gregson, Murdoch all mentioned as possibilities).

David Schwarz seemed stunned by that trade (I presume he's in the Hutchy camp ["A 4th round pick will get it done"]).

Maybe David had a bet riding on us not matching.
