Voters may want change. But not what the lnp offer. How’s the polling in teal seats. Formerly known as liberal heartland.
Teal seats are lost. No point even chasing them.
Leave the Greens and the Teals to have the wealthy inner city seats. Then they can all virtue signal with no accountability to their hearts content.

Leave the Greens and the Teals to have the wealthy inner city seats...

And the ALP to permanent government.

The Liberal Party have never won government without winning those wealthy inner city seats.

The only other path to victory is winning swathes of seats in the outer north and west of Melbourne that the Liberal Party never held in living memory (with the exception of Tullamarine 1992-1999)

I'm not trying to diminish the robodebt fiasco.

Robodebt affected a small number of us while covid policies/lockdowns affected all Victorians, especially Melbournians. It's understandable that some still feel the pain.

"Affected"?! People committed suicide over a threat for a debt they didn't have - and their deaths have had an ongoing impact on their families and friends.

This isn't going to end well. A rhetorical battle over whether the Robodebt Scandal or the COVID lockdowns where people were deprived of their livelihoods and which one left the most significant human wreckage is unseemly.

to say nothing of the fact that the intent of each was vastly different ethically and in scale. Hardly a sensible what-about

I'm not getting into a "most" argument. They both impacted peoples' lives - and both resulted in deaths. Just seemed a throwaway dismissal of the impact of Robodebt. Anyway, not the appropriate thread, so that's all I'll say in here.

quick glance across news websites this morn, 'melbournes US owned tabloid' not as chirpy about weekends result as they were after pesuttos 'new dawn' victory in warrandyte

they did however find time to mention deemings defamation action against pesutto is fast approaching

And there’s me thinking my seat Kooyong is now marginal and much more interesting than before.

Have we ever stopped to think these ‘educated elites’ might see a lazy useless rabble rousing wedging mob for what they are? A million miles from the aspirationals they claim to represent

Nick McKenzie is a great journalist however he practices long form journalism and would be lucky to produce 2 articles a month.

To suggest that all media be the same is ludicrous.

all i’m asking for is for all journalists to verify their pieces, be balanced, and be accurate. the slobbo pieces have been none of those things.

If you are going to be giving out lectures in journalism, then can you at least get the name of the journalist correct.
Hint: Its not Mark Robinson.

over 440,000 adversely affected is a "small number"?

yet another diversion.

if you are going to critique me then you at least get the name of the journo right. mark robinson is known as "robbo", not slobbo.
the latter is warner.

Robodebt affected our most vulnerable.

Those who were mostly unemployed and told they had a debt that had to be paid back or as Alan Tudge said "we will hunt you down and you could go to jail".

There's very little appetite from mods and myself to debate covid vs robodebt in this thread, so I'll leave the discussion there. It's completely understandable that many people still feel raw negative emotions over a recent controversial leader like Dan, which is the point I was trying to make.

How much pain can be linked back to each pollie? How many people were personally hurt by ScoMo's government and policies? Compare that to the number of people who were personally hurt by Dan's government and policies. Robodebt is small bickies compared to the harm caused by the Vic government during covid (even if you agree it was necessary).
Vic government did what it had to do because the Federal government ran away from its duties.

A lack of policy is just as dangerous as shit policies.

Quarantine by accordance of this nation's constitution says its a Federal job, The libs/nats failed in their required duty because when shit gets real you don't want the party founded by Pig iron bob running the show.

Yet every single other state and territory government was able to do it properly, just not Victoria which did things it’s own unsuccessful way.

The problem with continuing to blame the Federal Government is you deliberately ignore that part where Victoria was the only state in lockdown in the second half of 2020. The rest of the country figured it out the first time.

correct!

anyhow, i’'m over the magical mystery tour of avoidance of your m8.

fact 1. there was never any substance to the story and the so-called journo could have easily established that by doing what a cadet would have done - sought corroboration.

fact 2. there were errors of fact in the piece including the made-up bit that the portsea golf club was exclusive.

fact 3. poor journalism.

this >

I find it endlessly entertaining that the Conservative politicians and media ********ers are still complaining and whining about Andrews even after his retirement, almost like they have absolutely nothing else in their bag of bullshit stories.
It's delicious.
