I think he's just one of those players who is doing more than he appears. Has a poker face and a laconic style so it looks like he's just ambling around, not trying, doesn't care, is timid, etc. But in reality he's running more kms than anyone, getting to good spots, and taking contested marks.

Just got to keep pumping games into him.

I love the kid and this may change, but my only concern is he seems like he has such a timid nature. Sort of sits back, try's to get the odd arm or hand into a contest when the balls bouncing around. He has the size, skill and smarts to use his body but I feel like he's just a bit bruise free. Hopefully he gets comfortable in his body and gets more confidence to throw himself around a bit.

Some of the tackles he lays are like bear hugs, no way you get out of them. He also attacks his marking with a 'thats my ball' mentality exclamaton mark. I have no concerns about his strength and desire to get involved whatsoever

I like the way that he, Rachele, Dawson, and a few of our other players have learned to hold an arm during the tackle. Just no way out of it short of trying to drop the ball onto their boot.

Found this narrative from certain 'experts' in the media at the start of the year nauseating. Campo was another one waffling on about it....

He's going to be an absolute ripper.

Dan is only 20, he's 6ft 5 and has just played his 20th game, 5 of which were as a substitute.

We need to continue to pump games into him.
In his last 4 games, he's had 14, 16, 14, 12 disposals.

I'm looking forward to what he will become after 1 or 2 more pre-seasons of weights, diet and cardio.

He won't be out of the side unless it's injury related for the foreseeable. The coaches made it clear what they thought of him and they were happy to carry him in a few games for what we are now seeing.

Such a good contested mark already. Seems really strong one on one. Could be a very tough match up for opposition if he just sits 30m ahead of the ball on the wing.

Agreed. But from a value to our team point of view I almost prefer this. So many flash in the pan rookies. Curtin seems to be genuinely building. And given his size and inexperience that's really exciting.
