To be fair, Cripps remains an outlier. He is taller than Murray and Tex for example.
Bontempelli is 1.93 as well.

The next bit of really good news will be the club anouncing that Dan Curtin has just signed a 5 year contract extension..work to make it happen board

I can see him signing on. He appears to have already made some close friends. Knowing Rach and Soligo have signed long term will help persuade him to follow suit. Can't see it happening soon but wouldn't surprise me to see something of an extension signed before the off season.

He was directing traffic out there already. Structuring us up behind the ball (!)

Also got openly frustrated when he got ignored from the kick out after a strong lead. Expected the ball, wants the ball.

Very clean, looks a good kick.

Got caught under the ball in a couple of marking contests.

Hopefully gets a good run at it. No point bringing Smith back into the 22.

Smith offered nothing as he has been the last few seasons. Stick with Curtin, there is plenty to like about his game.

He is an absolute specimen! At 19 years of Age to be 197cm and 93kg - thats bloody huge.

Our first B&F winner was 196cm ruck man who was 5th in the AFL in hitouts in 1991. Just shows how much the game has changed in 33 years.
He’s big but on the very little I’ve seen his natural game doesn’t use it much?

He is still playing like a medium defender because he grew something like 12cm in 2 years. He's not used to being the big guy.

He'll be a good player by end of year, but still has a heap of learning to go to best use his size (which is great).

Was alright, totally reasonable debut. Thought he looked pretty nervous in the first (understandably) but settled once he got a couple of touches in the second. I'm sure he'll improve a lot, not as mature as some of our debutants have been recently.

As was always going to be the case, the trickiest thing is going to be finding a good role for him to slot into. Given Worrell's form I think it's basically playing like a smaller rebounding defender, in the role that Smith/Milera/Hamill normally play. I'm concerned they will feel like that makes the defence too tall though, when he's playing alongside Keane/Worrell and Butts/Murray.

Pretty sure I saw him give Daws a bake when he ignored an easy handball give on the outside. Didn’t mind it tbh

Talia was similar in his early years - was quite happy to straighten players up

What happens now though? Smith remains sub or dropped to 2s?
No particular reason why they can't both play. Jones spent a lot of time in defence this week for example, could have Smith in that role instead.
