The good news is that IF Reid and Allen were to leave, West Coast would come after Curtin with a

of draft picks.

If Curtin was to leave we could walk away with 2 top 5 draft picks and another top 20 pick (or thereabouts).

I'd like to keep Dan as his ceiling could be very, very high, BUT it might be a good time for us if he does go back.
You would think if they lose Reid they would have to come after Curtin to try and save face.
I would want nothing less than getting the pick we need to get Dyson Sharp. Anything less and they can GTFO.

I would think his manager would be saying, stay at Adelaide, they are a good club and success will hopefully come, if you commit to another 2 years (5 total) you can re-assess if you want to go to FA or if you really want to leave. But don't go to West Coast now, they are a basket case. Fremantle isn't much better, something not right there, but I'm sure they will click and be one to watch.
Yeah, I can't imagine a player at this stage in his career will want to move from a club on the way up to a club that looks like rebuilding over the next few years before it can hope to contend again. Fremantle could improve later this year, but their start has been underwhelming, especially as they were the ones predicted to be performing more like the Crows are currently.

Curtin's manager would tell him to take the bag so he would get more fee from his percentage.

The way West Coast overpay for stuff, I'd want both those top 5 picks, I'd consider giving them ours.

Rather keep Curtin though

Irrespective of whether that's good value or not, surely WCE of all clubs would be the most weary of giving away so many firsts - the three firsts for Tim Kelly is what kicked off their collapse in the first place

Look, very true but you can't say their trading of picks etc was an example of good management, it was like they threw a hail mary for one last shot at the flag.

If they lost Reid and Allen, they'd want a good news story.

Chad Warner and Logan McDonald might be that

Obviously one is 2 years older so have to take development into account but Curtin >> Sharp as an overall package.

Given our window, Curtin > Sharp. But as for which will be better in the end it’s more like Curtin >?< Sharp

Unless Sharp becomes a generational midfielder, I'd say it is likely that Curtin becomes the more impactful and important player by career end. He is a friggen unicorn. He shouldn't have the traits he does at the size he has. Much like Filthy, the agility and touch vs the size is almost unheard of.

We are already starting to see him get all over the ground, kick goals, break tackles, chase players down and work that elite left leg in field kicking...and this is only just his 2nd year in. If Jordan Dawson has mentioned he sees Curtin as a taller version of himself, what a prospect we have on our hands. Please crows hierarchy, lock him in long term or we are going to regret it I think.

Possibly yeah.

I dont think we was ever as good a pick as people pumped him up to be. Didnt quite have the tricks that you should be seeing from a key forward drafted at that point, but also going to Sydney and the lack of space you tend to have doesnt help.

Interesting time for him, he needs to come back from injury strong.

It's pretty funny that for a while people were debating which of Jamarra and McDonald would be the best key forward from the 2020 draft, and it now looks like being a clear choice between Thilthorpe or Treacy (who wasn't even selected in the national draft!). Hell, I think a lot of people would probably take Shannon Neale over JUH or McDonald right now.

Who wins a hypothetical straight swap … Reid for Curtin?
Both clubs if both players hit their peaks. Reid as we saw in his 1st year, did some crazy good things and if he can get his head right and be dedicated, has the tools to be a multiple Brownlow medalist. We all see the potential with Dan, he looks like he has it all - size, poise, magnificent kicking skills, ability to play all over the ground and once he really settles in, the ability I think to dominate the league as a massive goalkicking midfielder.

But as it stands, Please let us just keep Dan for many many seasons to come.

In terms of pure ability, Reid. Curtin has star written all over him, but Reid has Brownlow written on him.

However, if Reid leaves WC, I doubt it would be to go to another non-Victorian club in a footy-mad city. I'd be concerned that he would have one eye out the door before he even got here.
