He turned games for us. He tackles better than most on our list too.The kid is going to be a gun, but some are overstating his actual output last year.

Neither of those things are trueHe turned games for us. He tackles better than most on our list too.
I reckon we'll be very careful based on the soft tissue injuries this year.Gather he csn play sanfl from next week if he has a full week's worth of training?
Hopefully back in the AFL team within the month.

Month should be plenty.I reckon we'll be very careful based on the soft tissue injuries this year.
Could easily go ping
Actually both are trueNeither of those things are true
Hopefully he gets back a bit earlier, but no need to rush.
Yeah. He had a block of games post-bye where he was excellent but lots of quiet ones. Totally fine for a second year player but he wasn't in our 10 most influential players for the season as a whole. Definitely could be in 2026 though. The kid is going to be a gun, but some are overstating his actual output last year.
Oh he'll play him, and very quicklyNicks won't play him and then use his absence to excuse his shitty, outdated game plan
You're probably right. It will take him time to build up to good form. Can't help but think that we might not see the best of Dan this season because of the injury, even if he comes back and performs well
Looked like he was going to tear the roof off prior to the injury
Hopefully he gets a clear run at things next season from pre season onwards
For sureYou're probably right. It will take him time to build up to good form.
But...
I'm hoping we see a surprise breakout game late this year like the Ashcroft Norm Smith #1 . Maybe in a final even. That at least gives us something to get excited about.
Curtin, Ah Chee and Keane are big losses from our team.
This is where selection gets frustrating, as we don't seek to find out about our depth. Guys like Dowling and Edwards should be getting games, but instead remain largely unknown quantitiesFor sure
Add in guys down on form or not quite right like Rankine and Solly (because of groin stuff)
Also Draper's body letting him down
We don't have the top end talent depth to support that
Probably 1 game minimum at SANFL level I think. He’s not coming back from a 3-4 week injury, he’ll need to have a run first IMO.He said in his interview in telecast on Thursday that he’s targeting a round 8 return.
Is he straight back into the firsts building up game time at AFL level rather than coming back via the SANfL?
We seem to be prepared to let proven players find their feet at AFL level this seasonHe said in his interview in telecast on Thursday that he’s targeting a round 8 return.

Prepared to have a lower TOG % for some
He will destroy McBean if that was his role..way too mobile and just as powerful in the air even if it was his 1st game backIf we put him in the SANFL he’ll be on McBean
No, that simply wouldnt happen. He will destroy McBean if that was his role..way too mobile and just as powerful in the air even if it was his 1st game back
Oh i rate Liam but i rate dan curtin way higherNo, that simply wouldnt happen.
Huge disrespect to Liam there.

interesting comment the other night by a coach (i forget which one) discussing long term injured players coming back into the team and finding their best form. he said, as a rule of thumb, allow 50% of the time they were injured to get back to full form. so curtins say 12 weeks out (iirc) would mean waiting 6 weeksYou're probably right. It will take him time to build up to good form.
