"Generational talent" is one of those terms that can only be applied once sufficient time has passed... but Watson couldn't do much more than he's done. He looks like being an absolute gun.
Hawks certainly wouldn't be disappointed in picking him.

Gun with great pace & skill... & outstanding goal sense.

Having said that, I'm very happy we traded up to land Curtin.

Harley Reid is the generational talent from that draft.

Watson will win multiple AA's though. Brilliant player.

I think these comments only comes about if you are being extremely biased towards Adelaide.

Watson isn't good, he's on a generational pace. We're hoping Curtin has an equivalent ceiling to Watson.
Those claiming generational talent are going over the top. Generational talent means someone who is the best player for maybe the past 10 years. He's good but he's nowhere near the best.

I think Watson will be generational. Having watched him play for a while i reckon he'll transition into midfield a bit and track similar to boomer harvey without the longevity. Great player.

Watson is tracking to be AA in his third year, and a generational career small forward

A lot of what’s great about Curtin right now is what he could be (he’s certainly shown glimpses of it), his ceiling is higher than Watson’s for sure, but he hasn’t hit that yet

Probably best to revisit this discussion in three or more years

I mean, when was the last time a small forward finished/was projected to finish top 5 in the Coleman (an award dominated by KPFs) in his third year?

No, not at all: 20 years (a generation).

Curtin just needs to not have injuries, and he'll show how much of a gun bucket he is.

If the Hawks ever make a grand final, the wiz would be short odds for a Norm Smith. Looks like a big game player to me.
