Needless to say, we all want every player that throws on a CFC jumper to do well.
The frustration with Gorringe is that it's clear he can do better, yet has on many occasions to date, has put in half-arsed efforts.....and on some occasions, quarter-arsed. :)

His athletic profile is terrific for a big man and if he maximises his strengths.........he'll have a pretty good life-style.

Maybe he needs a kick up the backside like the one Jaksch got during the preseason.

is that really our Daniel Gorringe?
By all reports yes. He's a different cat and also had some very choice words about Port when a trade fell through IIRC.

He spoke about another preseason? so he has been signed on?

Just bad luck he was up aginst the best Ruckman in the AFL. He's not a ruckman, not tall enough for one. Keep him in as a utility (Forward or back) until Kreuz, Levi and/or Phillips return. By 2 or 3 games, we'll know whether he's any good at this level or not. He's very athletic, and knowing the MC have given him a chance to prove himself, he may just surprise. I liked the athletic ability he used to kick that goal. I thought he said in his interview he used to be a high jumper.

Everything must be postive all the time. Lollipops and rainbows all day. No negativity allowed
I didn't say that, just speaking my mind. You can live in a dark depressing world if you like though!

Where does a full glass of red wine qualify is it half full 3/4 full or full?

I was disappointed not to see the boys get around Daniel after he kicked that goal , except Cripper as the got back for the centre bounce . It looked like he was looking around for the players to come to him. Yes I know the game was shot , but a bit of support during a tough 1st game wouldn't go astray.

Well beaten on his club debut but that was to be expected given the opposition.

With both Kreuzer & Phillips on the sidelines for a little while longer, Daniel has a great opportunity here to re-ignite his career and I hope we give him more than one week to prove himself.

I'm not convinced he's best utilized in the ruck but for now he's the best option we have in that position. I'd like to see how he goes in a position where he can really use his strengths once one or both of Kreuzer & Phillips are back.

Surprised his goal didn't get the Carlton goal of the week

Me too, Lance.

Although I do like the fact that several of the Carlton goals of the week have been long passages of teamwork, rather than purely sublime finishing touches.

Just reinforcing the 'team effort' mentality.

Yeah I think he's killed his ruck chances, but I don't think Bolton would even consider dropping him this week. If you can't even make half a contest against the best in the league, then there's no point persistning with someone who might be hlaf decent against average rucks, but would need to be moved or dropped against the better ones. Would send a terrible message to him. Forgetting the fact that he got his spot out of chance rather than VFL form, he was never going to even come close to winning that battle and Bolts would know that.
Tell him that we appreciated his efforts in an unwinnable battle and that he's safe this week, but will be played forward/back/wing, whatever the case may be. Would be an absolute confidence destroyer to play one game where you're expected to be beaten soundly and then dropped for your troubles.

I'm happy to give him a crack at a few positions and this might sound silly, but when I look at him in his Blues gear, he just doesn't LOOK like a Blues player to me. He's literally the only player on the list that makes me think this.

You just get a sneaking suspicion that he's not one of the most liked boys down at the club. The lack of support after he kicked that goal was almost awkward to watch. One of our players (can't remember who) was right near him, I think in the foreground of the shot, and just kind of casually strolled away and looked the other way.

It doesnt help that it was reviewed before given as a goal

I honestly don't really see that as being much of a difference. The guy kicked his first goal for the club, in a rather spectacular fashion. Not sure Bolts would have been too pleased about it with his one in all in, whole of club mentality.

Yep, that kind of thing would get them skinny dipping in port phillip bay at 5am.

★☆☆☆☆ Shithouse, wasted 1 hour of my Saturday for you to lose my order. How the **** do you lose an order? You have 5 tables max to keep track of. They're gonna find the Malaysian aircraft before you find my order. And don't shake your head at me when I ask for my money back, bitch I'm surprised you found my money you time wasters

That alone earned him another game.

Mom

I think a lot of our guys looked flat and lacking enthusiasm all night. Completely different to previous winning games. The teamwork, support & taking the game on, was just not as evident as previous games. North's pressure might of had something to do with that?

i still have some hope for him. i remember him from a few years ago and he looked like a potential star. there is no doubt he has ability im just hoping that he is still able to find the key to becoming a very good player.
