Dunno what I'm digging myself out of...
I just pointed out your mistakes as opposed to ours.
Really isn't too much in it...

Upgrading now?

Walker a mistake? Get real! Who taken below him has been better? Silvia? Ray? McLean?

FFS, Walker misses 6 month of footy, and suddenly everyone forgets the sort of impact he has.

I too cannot understand this misconception that Walker is no good.
The kid has more class than three quarters of f***ing Bitchmond side put together.
Can't wait to see the reaction of some when he stays injured free in 2009.

Um...thanks...

And yet people have a go at Tambling, who has done just about as much as Walker...

Anyway, here I leave you my good people, for I don't like where this is headed; I don't want to become one of the increasingly large numbers of Tigers' fans who are banned from your board.
So go...have a go at me while I'm gone, have a laugh at how bad Richmond's recruiting is. That'll be tough...
But seriously...your's is just as bad...

Now surrey, that's not very nice. 3qtrs??? Surely you mean the entire richmond side? Why leave out the other qtr?

Yeah, but how good they turned out to be wasn't because we overlooked them.

3 clubs overlooked both. Including Hawthorn re. Buddy.
And Tambling is forgin quite a servicable career.

So one mistake, taking Fiora over Pav.
Just like Freo took Hill over whoever; he's very Fiora-ish.

But Fiora went on to have a bit of a career. As have Schulz and Tambling.

So our draft "mistakes" have all been servicable at least (bar JON so far)
As opposed to many of the above list, on Carlton's hands...

You leave hilly out of this:cool:

He will be a gun:thumbsu:

Without knowing too much about Yarran, just interested to know how blues fans feel about not selecting Daniel Rich? Can anyone see this decision coming back to haunt ala my mob selecting fiora ahead of pavlich and tambling ahead of buddy?

I wouldn't have thought so tc. Rich may well have been the safe selection, however, Yarran was both rated higher by our recruiters, and he is also the type of player that we have been crying out for for ages.

As has already been mentioned, he could quite easily turn out to be the most talented player in this draft. I think we've got someone pretty special here.

Mate, instead of worrying about us, if i were you i'd start worrying about your clubs decision to pass on Ziebell for Vickery.

Because we have a serious ruck and KPP deficiency and vickery is the best ruck prospect in the draft. Pretty simple really. Yarran is just another small forward who may well end up being pretty good. Fact is, with stevens on the way out rich would have been another gun midfielder in the carlton side. Would have been just the most delicious midfield in the comp.

Midfielders come and go but fowards with X-Factor and the smarts of C.Yarran are hard to find.

Fine, you want to use needs for your first round pick fine by me, the Roos I'm sure are very glad you did.

Team Mo was right, you are digging one hell of a hole for yourself buddy. Get your facts straight about Yarran before making comments on him.

What the hell are you on about? What facts? Where have I bagged Yarran? I just basically said rich would have been a better choice considering stevens has real issues with weight and injury. His neck is stuffed and the soft tissue injuries are creeping in.

As for digging holes, you're doing a pretty good job........buddy.

I would have taken Vickery over Ziebell in a heartbeat. I think the Tiges did the right thing. It's not every day guys that size who can mark and lead and kick straight come along. He could be the next Buddy. Mind you, he comes with a few risks of his own, being fairly injury prone.

LOL, you do realise Yarran is also a midfielder don't you? If you think he is just small forward and that's all he'll be you are horribly mistaken. Yarran is just as able to replace Stevens as Rich would.

We took Yarran over Rich because we believe he'll be the better player.

From what I can gather Yarran was targetted to have an immediate impact up forward, giving us another dimension in front of goal. If he is a Shaun Burgoyne type as others have suggested then within a few years this guy will morph into an elite midfielder/on baller. So for mine, I think we get two players for the price of one - will fit neatly into either role.:thumbsu:

Too much sense.

Absolutely correct. :thumbsu:

CARLTON 17.16 (118) d RICHMOND 12.16 (88)

3 Stevens (C), 2 Gibbs (C), 1 Deledio (R)

Odds are Richmond would have still picked Vickery ahead of Rich if they had the chance.

Their midfield and best 22 is overflowing with A grade talent like Foley, Tuck, Newman, Thomson, Tambling, King, McMahon and Johnson.

And we're one midfielder short because we picked Yarran.

The names Vance and Livingstone still haunt me.
I must admit they were clearly shockers.

Russell: Still has next year to prove himself but will not end up quite with the same failing as the above 2

Kennedy: We got Judd for him so he was a great pick up

Walker: Is just about right to really show what he can do.
Remember, he is only 22 and has had some serious setbacks but has skill to burn.

But please don't compare Carltons mistakes to Richmond. Every team has skeletons in the cupboard but you guys have a cemeteries worth in yours.

Brilliant quote :D
