Out for the rest of the season, might very well be the end of his career.
How do we remember him? He’s such a hard player to sum up.
At his best was sublime....elite ball user, glide across the ground, uncanny vision.
At times looked lazy, injuries to soft tissue dogged him.
Hard to encapsulate his career in a sentence, but at his best was magic to watch

Not to put too much blame on the Collingwood medical staff but why did he go back on the ground?

Surely prudence would take precedent.
Absolutely!
I can’t believe they put him back on again in the last when the game was done and dusted

Absolutely elite when he was on but we didn't see it often enough because he was regularly crueled by injury.

I thought it was a massive risk at the time for Collingwood to give him 3 years, looks like it's back fired for them.

I was staggered he got 3 years after his injuries.
He’s played 45 games in the last 5 years

On the list of players who never got to show their best. Flashes of eliteness in between injury after injury after injury.
Would Wells be on the top of that list? i.e of all the players who were destined to be absolute elite, has he been the one most crueled? At least of all the players still playing today?

Wearing long sleeves for the first part of his career in any weather. That’s it

It's certainly hard to think of another current player. Allen Jakovich is my all-time though (Coleman second), Wells at least managed to limp to 250 games.

He’d go close I think. Elite talent and some of his games for North were outstanding, on his day just stood out like few can. Daisy is in the discussion to.

Great player but he has no heart

I don't know about that, takes determination and strong will to bust yourself to play AFL for years when your body continuously fails you.

I don't see him play often, nobody has, but if he does seem short on heart I would forgive him after so much disapointment.

I'm prefacing this with the fact I'm a big fan but wasn't he criticised 6 or so years ago that he, more than most players, found it very difficult to play through injury?

But his overall body of work would suggest he was elite and had an elite career.
That’s the hardest part....he’s so hard to define as he has played so many games and had such a long career and we all saw him at his prime yet you still get this sense of unfulfilled
