There has been Rumours that's he is coming to us next year as the 'big name player'. On Joffa's Facebook he has a picture of himself and Pearce (who's dad rode with Joffa to Adelaide for epilepsy) with the caption "....big news on the way Pies Fans." Not sure if I should read much into this or...

When did he put the Picture Up and Can you get a Screen Shot of it please

Would be an interesting addition, could be inspired or a flop. Based on recent history have to say it would end well

Thought you'd be able to see it considering his profile is public.

Here it is anyway:

He's more than likely the Leon replacement.

Interesting. A WC, Port, Pies arrangement involving Leon, Pearce, 1st rounder and pick upgrade?

WC would be entitled to think Leon might be a missing link now.

How is he a replacement for Leon? Pearce may be able to rebound quite well but he won't be able to defend. He is just a slightly better version of Lonie and for what he'd cost ... I'd be saying hell no.

He's welcome to come over, cheaply, and prove my punk ass wrong but I have never cared for Pearce.

Pearce would dominate at Collingwood. At Port he gets the oppsition's best tagger week in week out and still dominates the inside 50 stats. He's also quite a hard worker and runs all day, although reputation hasn't caught up to reality quite yet on that one.

At Collingwood where he wouldn't attract a tag and would have better players around him, he'd feed Cloke and Dawes so much they'd wind up looking like Scott Cummings.

As for a price, he's the only outside runner with any pace or kicking ability that we have (i'd imagine we'd be spending out first rounder this year on exactly that sort of player), and as such he's really, really valuable to us. More than you'd be willing to pay without a doubt. Steele Sidebottom? I know you're going to think that's over the odds because of how well he does for you guys, but Pearce would be just about the worst player we could lose at the moment.

Well that is way over the Odds.

What Happens if Pearce Asks for the Trade to Collingwood then?

I heard we asked if he was up for Trade and Sounds like the Port said he was up for trade

I, if was managing Collingwood's list, would respectfully decline that offer ... thank you though.

I say you keep him. That's just me though and I don't retract my comments about him.

Everyone is up for trade given the right deal. Always. No player is untouchable.

I think in any fair trade, both sides are going to feel like they got screwed just a little bit. In this case, we're both going to feel a little bit too screwed to get a deal done.

If Pearce comes out and demands a trade to Collingwood we'd probably ask for an acceptable deal or tell him no. He's contracted, and has hardly got a shot at getting there via PSD.

Would welcome Danyle with open arms.

Serious line breaker who would likely benefit from playing in a better team as is the case with many of those outside players. In the right age group and helps only further improve our list balance which we have done a great job of improving in recent seasons.

Finding a spot for him on the field would be no issue.

Trading for him would be interesting though..

I'm mates with his cousin... I'll put the hard word on him tomorrow and see what he says! :D

In that case, we'll happily take Gray. You could even have Sidebottom in return.

As for Pearce, I'm skeptical. More pace forward of centre would be lovely, but our strength is 1-on-1 play, and that's not his go.

McCarthy and a couple picks is the most I'd want to pay for him. We have Pendles, Thomas and Fasolo (kinda) as our flashy young outside mids, there is no way the club would send Sidey to the Port Power hellhole for a lazy, plateaued young outside mid.

I wouldn't exactly claim Pearce as a big name player...

Personally not even interested in picking him up.
