I thought we nominated him but clubs did not bid so he went late. From memory he was in the same draft as Cal Brown and North I think bid on him.

Correct. But as no clubs nominated, we simply selected him. Hence, he was not drafted under the Father/Son rule.

Absolutely. Anyone that paid any attention through the season would be across how impressive Wilkie’s season was and be completely unsurprised at his selection.

I’d have been astounded had he missed but these clowns have done worse before

Don't see the point of having a captain. It's not the best captain or leader necessarily, non captains have won. I don't really know what it is. Just extra recognition for a deserving player I suppose. Guess Greene deserves that.

He has a menace on the field like Leigh Matthews had

And he can turn a game on his boot

He is not eloquent like Darce, but he deserves the captaincy
