Darren Jolly # 18
D.O.B: 6-11-81, Height: 200cms, Weight: 108kgs
Games: 208 Goals: 106

Background:

Recruited from the Swans for the 2010 season for picks 14 and 46, along with Luke Ball from the Saints in an attempt to complete the jigsaw.

It did.

Season 2011:

Darren only played 16 games last year having had injury worries and knee surgery, and then was rested for a significant amount of time post op to allow as much recovery as possible, to no doubt to allow Wood to gain valuable match experience.

He averaged only 10.9 disposals down from his 26 games and 13 disposal average from 2010, where had a slow start but finished the year full of running.

Marks were down from 5.0 to 3.2 per game, but tackles up form 2.0 to 3.8

Hit out wise, In his first season 2010, from 26 games he was credited with 579 HO's ( ave = 22.3)
In 2011, he got 383 HO's ( ave = 23.9)

Both years, his ruck work has been marred by giving away free kicks.
Last year it was 27 for, 39 against.

The umps obviously see the frees. Many Pie supporters fail to understand many of these frees, as does the man himself if you've studied Body Language 101!

2012 expectations:

I expect big Darren Jolly to have an excellent year this year.
I get the feeling his 2011 was held back due to injury, but he looks rearing to go this year.

He has some younger ruckman up and coming and he gives the impression he is training them up in the art and will be very keen to set the likes of Wood and also Witts and Ceglar a shining example.
