No Sandilands, Griffin does a knee in the first quarter. All set for Jolly to dominate yet he's nullified by ZAC DAWSON!!!

I look forward to his article bagging Cameron Wood this week. Bring back Hudson or Witts.

He is Finished. Okay in Tapouts but go straight to Oppostion Players and does nothing arouond the Ground.

Might as well get games into Witts

First time I agree with Dave. His hit outs go nowhere and he's not a threat to the opposition when he goes forward. Continues to give away dumb frees.

In the last quarter he made Zac Dawson look good.

He had a poor game tonight, the stats don't describe how poor he was, he should have dominated once Griffin went off yet he struggled, especially late on.

He isn't finished, as he showed last week and I don't think there's any doubt his ill timed, and terribly worded article during the week had a negative impact on his game tonight.

I won't bag him too much but he had a below average night I thought.

Agree. Going forward this is his last year and it appears we are not a threat. Time to get Witts as much Senior games as possible to expose him.

Dawson was significant in the last quarter, impacted on the outcome.
Jol's struggled in the last, thought he was just Ok till then, when he should have been dominant.
Q was also poor both forward and rucking tonight.
FWIW i have posted being critical of his article, but i cannot believe it's relevant to how the game unfolded. Whether it;s being discussed or thought of post match, well that is another question...

Dawson had a ten minute cameo, in the last, after jolly rucked well all night

May as well take him out the back and shoot him

It only takes a 10 minute cameo - I think of Stewwy Dew in the '08 grand final... Dawson had 4 clearances in the last quarter from the centre square. Can you imagine Cox, Mumford, Bellchambers or Goldstein allowing a third sting ruck to have so much influence? We should expect no less from our number one ruck

I've seen cox out rucked and out played by fraser

Nevertheless we didn't lose because of Dawson's four clearances (2of which came from jolly taps and two up against lynch). We lost because Harry fell off Walters, Harry panicked and sold shaw into trouble, dale hand passed to a one on three for god knows what reason and each other resulted in goals. Add that to swan being at full forward and not the stoppages, pendlebury on the bench, and our defenders losing the plot trying to get the ball and you see why we lost

Dawson whilst stopping our midfielders from taking the ball away didn't become some kind of ruck master.

Jolly has been poor for a long time.. it is an area that has killed us since 2010, the last time we had a good ruck division.

You've kind of missed the point.

Jolly should have utterly dominated the game. The fact that he had a passable game is actually damning in its mediocrity. Jolly was in the unique situation to lead the team from the front. He should have jumped into the lighter less experienced players. He could have intimidated around the ground. He should have been that player who makes his team mates walk taller. He should have had 50 hit outs

Maybe he was saving energy (and maybe we should also have employed a third man up - another issue I know, but a really poor coaching display) but Jolly was almost Fraser-like in his lack of physical presence. What happened to big men not getting smaller as the game progresses?

Again, think of the number one ruckmen at other clubs and the manner that they would have gone about their business if they were in Jolly's situation. This was the situation that a two time premiership ruckman should relish

The problem with our Ruckman is they are either too old or too young there is no one in their prime that can ruck us to victory.

15 possessions, 8 marks, 31 hitouts

Was hardly useless, easily best ruckman on the ground.

It's not his fault that the Fremantle midfield torched ours, or that our only player getting his hands dirty clearance wise was a fifth gamer.

We have far far bigger issues then jolly who has been the best ruck in his last two games

Very poor list management... we should of been planning for this a few years ago instead of now getting to the moment and being stuffed then being forced to pay overs for someone out of desperation.

North Melbourne have a bloke called Currie just sitting around doing nothing. It's such a shame. He would be our number one ruck right now.

Currie?

He's undersized in body weight, slow, unathletic, poor mark, and is reminiscent of Stretch Richards
